๐ฅ 25 years later โ and it still hits like a sledgehammer to the skull.
Slipknot have officially dropped the Deluxe 25th Anniversary Edition of their monstrous 1999 self-titled debut album โ the one that introduced the world to Iowaโs masked chaos machine and changed the sound of metal forever.
And because just reissuing it would be way too normal for Slipknot, the band have also unleashed a newly remastered and previously unseen live video for โScissorsโ, recorded during their early breakout years. Itโs raw, itโs unnerving, and itโs pure Slipknot: masks dripping, amps howling, and Corey Taylor screaming like a man possessed. ๐ญ
๐ค The Deluxe Edition: Whatโs Inside the Mayhem
The 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition comes stacked with goodies for Maggots old and new:
- ๐ฅ Remastered album audio with deeper, heavier tones
- ๐ฟ Bonus tracks and unreleased demos from the early sessions
- ๐ธ Rare photos and liner notes written by the band
- ๐ฅ The โScissorsโ live video โ the performance that became legend in the Knot underground
Itโs available on vinyl, CD, and digital, with an ultra-limited โIowa Blood Redโ vinyl pressing already selling out faster than Clown can smash a keg.
๐ช โScissorsโ โ The Live Ritual
The newly released โScissorsโ video isnโt just nostalgia โ itโs a reminder of how terrifyingly real Slipknot were when they first erupted. Recorded during the late โ90s chaos of their early tours, the performance captures the raw aggression that made venues fear insurance claims.
The video blends multiple live cuts and backstage carnage, offering fans a glimpse into the unhinged energy that birthed a movement. Fans are already calling it โthe most disturbing and beautiful thing Slipknot have ever released.โ
๐ญ Corey Taylor Speaks
Frontman Corey Taylor reflected on the anniversary, saying:
โWe were just nine kids from Des Moines with nothing to lose and everything to scream about. Twenty-five years later, this album still bleeds. We wanted this release to remind everyone where that fire started.โ
๐ค Legacy of the Knot
The 1999 debut album didnโt just make waves โ it detonated an entire generation of heavy music. With tracks like โWait and Bleed,โ โSurfacing,โ and โEyeless,โ Slipknot fused chaos, groove, and horror theatre into something that felt like a revolution in boiler suits.
Twenty-five years on, Slipknot remains one of the most explosive debuts in metal history โ a record that made nu-metal dangerous again and turned nine masked maniacs into icons.
๐ The Bottom Line
Slipknotโs 25th Anniversary Edition isnโt just a trip down memory lane โ itโs a grimy, blood-smeared celebration of what made them legends. Itโs brutal, nostalgic, and still terrifyingly relevant.
If you ever wanted a reason to put the mask back on and scream your lungs out, this is it.
