We go beyond the specification sheet to discover how cameras perform when they're actually being used.

Expect detailed coverage of image quality, autofocus, low-light performance, dynamic range, stabilisation, burst shooting, video quality, viewfinders, screens, controls and overall ease of use.

Battery life matters too. We'll look at manufacturer ratings alongside what they could mean in practical terms, including approximately how many photographs you might capture from one battery and whether carrying spares is essential for a full festival day.

We'll also examine memory card support, storage options, weather sealing, connectivity, weight, ergonomics and lens compatibility.

Most importantly, we'll ask whether you'd actually want the camera hanging from your shoulder for ten hours at a festival.
