Wrap up warm, pack the band shirts and prepare for another blast of rock ’n’ roll beside the Scottish seaside because WinterStorm is returning to Troon in November 2026 — and this year is a particularly special one.

The independent indoor rock festival celebrates its tenth anniversary with StormForce X, bringing three packed days of live music to Troon Concert Hall from Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 November 2026.

But that’s not all.

For the first time in WinterStorm’s history, the celebrations stretch across five consecutive days, beginning with Before the ’Storm on Wednesday 25 November and continuing through to two After the ’Storm events on Sunday 29 November.

That’s five days.

One Scottish seaside town.

A ridiculous amount of rock music.

And presumably enough riffs to keep Troon vibrating until Christmas.

No Scotland, No Party!

🔥 Ten Years Of WinterStorm

WinterStorm first arrived in 2016, and over the following decade it has grown from an ambitious independent event into one of the most distinctive indoor rock weekends on the UK festival calendar.

Rather than attempting to compete with enormous outdoor festivals, WinterStorm has built its reputation by doing things its own way.

The festival takes place inside Troon Concert Hall, right beside the coast on Scotland’s west coast.

There’s no enormous campsite.

No trekking through six inches of mud.

No attempting to find your tent at 2am while questioning every decision that brought you to this particular field.

Instead, WinterStorm offers an intimate indoor festival atmosphere where established names, cult favourites, returning heroes and emerging artists all share the weekend.

🎂 StormForce X – The Tenth Anniversary Celebration

Reaching ten years is a huge achievement for any independent festival.

Doing it while maintaining a loyal community and continuing to bring international artists to a relatively intimate Scottish seaside venue makes WinterStorm’s milestone even more impressive.

StormForce X is designed as both a celebration of the festival’s past and another showcase of where the rock scene is heading next.

That means plenty of returning WinterStorm favourites alongside artists making their first trip to Troon.

The festival has always had a strong sense of community, with many fans returning year after year.

Thursday gets StormForce X underway with nine bands performing across the festival’s two stages.

Bad Touch | The Commoners | Jelusick | Mostly Autumn | John Corabi

That’s a serious opening evening.

Bad Touch kick proceedings into gear with their blues-soaked British rock ’n’ roll before Canadian rockers The Commoners bring their own blend of classic rock, southern influences and enormous grooves to Scotland.

Croatian powerhouse Jelusick, fronted by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Dino Jelusick, should add considerably more muscle to Thursday night.

Then there’s Mostly Autumn, bringing their expansive progressive and atmospheric rock sounds to Troon.

And if all of that wasn’t enough, former Mötley Crüe frontman and hugely respected rock vocalist John Corabi is also part of the opening-night action.

Not exactly easing people gently into the weekend, are they?

🔥 Sessions Stage

WinterStorm’s Sessions Stage once again gives another collection of artists the opportunity to perform in front of one of the most enthusiastic crowds on the independent rock circuit.

And if previous years have taught us anything, ignoring the second stage would be a serious mistake.

Friday is the first full festival day, with live music beginning from midday and continuing deep into the evening.

🤘 Steve Strange Main Stage

Bad Actress | Chantel McGregor | Focus | Blaze Bayley | Graham Oliver’s Army | The Fell | FM

There’s some wonderful variety packed into that lot.

Scottish hard rock gets representation from Bad Actress, while Chantel McGregor brings the kind of guitar playing that can make an entire room suddenly pay very close attention.

Dutch progressive rock legends Focus add decades of musical history to proceedings.

Then things get heavier.

Former Iron Maiden frontman Blaze Bayley returns to WinterStorm as part of his anniversary celebrations focusing on material from his Maiden years, including songs connected to The X Factor, Virtual XI and Best Of The Beast.

For Maiden fans, that alone makes Friday seriously tempting.

Graham Oliver’s Army brings another slice of classic British heavy metal history, while The Fell arrive with a line-up packed with serious rock pedigree.

Then melodic rock favourites FM complete a Friday bill absolutely dripping with experience.

Saturday brings the main StormForce X weekend to its conclusion.

And they’re certainly not going quietly.

Ayrshire Rock Choir | Eld Varg | Gypsy’s Kiss | Scarlet Rebels | Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash | Tygers Of Pan Tang | Toseland | Tyketto

That’s a proper Saturday.

Local voices get things underway with the Ayrshire Rock Choir before Scottish heavy metallers Eld Varg step up to the main stage following their previous Sessions Stage appearance.

That progression is important.

WinterStorm has a long-standing tradition of giving emerging artists opportunities to climb the festival ladder, meaning a strong second-stage performance can genuinely lead somewhere.

Gypsy’s Kiss bring another connection to the roots of British heavy metal, while Welsh rockers Scarlet Rebels should receive a particularly warm welcome from any travelling Cymru contingent. 🐉

Then comes some serious heritage.

Martin Turner, forever associated with the classic years of Wishbone Ash, brings those unmistakable melodic guitar sounds into the weekend.

WinterStorm 2026 actually gets underway before the official three-day festival begins.

For the first time, Wednesday night becomes part of the wider programme with a special Before The ’Storm concert.

And the organisers have gone gloriously Scottish with it.

🎶 Bay City Rollers Featuring Woody

Bay City Rollers featuring Woody will bring a full evening of nostalgia to Troon Concert Hall.

Expect tartan.

Expect enormous seventies pop-rock hooks.

Expect people claiming they definitely don’t know all the words before mysteriously singing every chorus.

The Wednesday concert is a standalone ticketed event, so festival-goers wanting the complete five-day WinterStorm experience should make sure they’ve booked it separately.

🌤️ Sunday 29 November – After The ’Storm

Think the weekend ends when Tyketto leave the stage on Saturday?

Not quite.

Sunday brings After The ’Storm, with two very different events completing WinterStorm’s five-day anniversary celebrations.

From around midday, the wonderfully difficult-to-describe Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5 bring their colourful Scottish party atmosphere to Troon.

This is the point where anyone expecting a quiet Sunday recovery may need to reconsider their plans.

Expect dancing.

Expect silliness.

Expect enormous amounts of yellow.

And expect absolutely no dignity whatsoever.

🌑 MacFloyd

Sunday evening takes things in an entirely different direction as MacFloyd bring the music of Pink Floyd to Troon Concert Hall.

The acclaimed Scottish tribute celebrates one of rock’s most iconic catalogues and provides a considerably more atmospheric conclusion to five days of musical mayhem.

After several days of hard rock, heavy metal, blues and melodic choruses, finishing with Pink Floyd classics sounds pretty bloody appealing.

🌊 Rock Music By The Sea

One of WinterStorm’s greatest strengths is its location.

Troon Concert Hall sits beside the beach on Scotland’s west coast, giving the festival an atmosphere completely different from most indoor rock events.

Walk outside and there’s the sea.

There’s fresh Ayrshire air.

There’s the beach.

And depending on November weather conditions, there’s potentially a wind strong enough to relocate your battle jacket to Northern Ireland.
