British heavy metal legends IRON MAIDEN have stunned fans by announcing 16 additional North American concerts for April and May 2027, reversing their original plans to take the entire year off from touring! The newly confirmed dates will bring their spectacular 50th anniversary Run For Your Lives World Tour to a dramatic conclusion, with special guests BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE and THE RAVEN AGE joining the celebrations.

UP THE IRONS! 🤘

Just when fans thought IRON MAIDEN were preparing to take a well-earned break from the road, the legendary British metal band have delivered an enormous surprise.

Following the outstanding response to their recent North American performances, IRON MAIDEN have officially announced a third and final leg of their Run For Your Lives World Tour, bringing their extraordinary 50th anniversary celebrations into 2027.

The announcement, made on Friday 16 October 2026, confirms 16 additional concerts across the United States and Canada.

The dates will concentrate on regions the band were unable to visit during their previous North American performances, particularly the north-western and south-eastern United States.

And if there is any confusion about whether further dates might follow, the band’s management has made one thing crystal clear.

These shows will DEFINITELY be the final performances of the Run For Your Lives World Tour.

When the celebrations finally conclude, IRON MAIDEN will have performed 107 concerts across 36 countries, entertaining more than three million fans.

Not a bad way to celebrate half a century of heavy metal domination!

🔥 IRON MAIDEN Reverse Plans To Take 2027 Off

The announcement comes as a surprise because IRON MAIDEN had previously indicated that they intended to take a break from live performances throughout 2027.

However, the response to their recent American and Canadian concerts appears to have changed their minds.

Founding bassist and principal songwriter Steve Harris explained that the band had enjoyed the latest North American leg so much that they began discussing the possibility of returning.

According to Harris, the musicians were particularly keen to visit parts of the continent that had missed out on the anniversary celebrations.

The band felt that their loyal supporters in those regions deserved another opportunity to experience the production.

Harris also expressed enthusiasm about the chance to headline two major American rock festivals before finally bringing the tour to an end.

For a group that has spent decades headlining some of Europe’s biggest rock and metal festivals, the opportunity to experience another pair of major US festival appearances clearly proved irresistible.

And with the musicians enjoying their time on stage, the decision was made to extend the celebration one final time.

🎸 Rod Smallwood Celebrates Record-Breaking North American Success

Longtime IRON MAIDEN manager Rod Smallwood has also expressed his excitement about the newly announced concerts.

Reflecting on the band’s recent North American performances, Smallwood highlighted the enormous audiences, enthusiastic reactions and growing number of younger fans attending shows.

The band’s 50th anniversary celebrations have attracted multiple generations of metalheads, with longtime supporters standing alongside younger fans discovering IRON MAIDEN’s legendary stage show for the first time.

Smallwood also noted that the group had achieved some of their biggest North American concert attendances during the anniversary tour.

Despite the changing music industry and the band’s historically limited mainstream radio exposure in America, their live following continues to flourish.

That loyalty has helped IRON MAIDEN maintain their position among heavy metal’s biggest international touring acts.

And the 2027 extension will give even more fans an opportunity to experience the spectacular production before it disappears.

That concert will officially bring the band’s enormous anniversary celebrations to a close.

🤘 BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE Announced As Special Guests

There is particularly exciting news for Welsh metal fans!

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE will join IRON MAIDEN as special guests on the newly announced North American headline dates.

The Bridgend metal heavyweights have established themselves as one of Wales’ biggest international metal exports, building an impressive career that has taken them from South Wales to arenas and festivals around the world.

Fronted by Matt Tuck, the band are known for combining aggressive metal riffs, melodic choruses, powerful drumming and influences from classic heavy metal and metalcore.

Their breakthrough debut album, The Poison, arrived in 2005 and helped establish them as one of the leading names of the emerging British metalcore movement.

Further success followed with releases including Scream Aim Fire, Fever, Temper Temper, Venom, Gravity and their self-titled 2021 album.

Songs such as Tears Don’t Fall, Your Betrayal, Waking The Demon, Scream Aim Fire and Hearts Burst Into Fire have become modern metal favourites.

The band are also preparing to release their new studio album, Social Apocalypse, on 19 March 2027.

That means the IRON MAIDEN tour will provide an early opportunity for North American fans to experience the group’s latest material live.

For BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, joining one of heavy metal’s most influential bands on such a significant tour represents another major milestone.

And here at The Riff Report Blog, seeing Welsh musicians continuing to make their mark on the international metal scene is always worth celebrating!

⚡ THE RAVEN AGE Complete The All-British Line-Up

Also joining the tour are British melodic metal band THE RAVEN AGE.

The London-based group have developed a strong reputation for combining traditional heavy metal influences with contemporary melodic arrangements.

Founded by guitarist George Harris, son of IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris, THE RAVEN AGE have already performed alongside several major international rock and metal acts.

Their previous appearances supporting IRON MAIDEN have helped introduce their music to audiences across the world.

The band recently supported Maiden during performances in South and Central America, making their inclusion on the 2027 North American run a natural continuation of that relationship.

With BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE and THE RAVEN AGE joining the bill, the tour will feature three British metal bands representing different generations of heavy music.

Interestingly, IRON MAIDEN have highlighted that they have not assembled an entirely British three-band touring bill of this kind since 1983.

That makes the announcement particularly appropriate for a tour celebrating the band’s formative years.

IRON MAIDEN, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE and THE RAVEN AGE – now that’s a proper heavy metal line-up!

The two festival appearances will have their own event line-ups, rather than necessarily featuring the same support acts.

💀 Eddie’s Dive Bars Return For The Final Tour Dates!

It wouldn’t be an IRON MAIDEN celebration without the band’s legendary mascot Eddie getting involved.

And the good news is that the hugely popular Eddie’s Dive Bars will be making a return for the 2027 concerts.

These specially themed fan experiences have become an entertaining addition to the Run For Your Lives World Tour.

Designed to bring fans together before the concerts, the bars celebrate IRON MAIDEN’s history and the community surrounding the band.

With themed decorations, music and merchandise, they provide an opportunity for metalheads to gather before heading into the arenas.

Rod Smallwood has spoken enthusiastically about the atmosphere at these events, explaining that they have become a particularly enjoyable part of the touring experience.

For fans travelling to the concerts, the return of Eddie’s Dive Bars adds another reason to arrive early and make a full day of the occasion.

🎶 Run For Your Lives – Celebrating 50 Years Of Heavy Metal History

The Run For Your Lives World Tour began in 2025 as a celebration of IRON MAIDEN’s extraordinary 50-year history.

Founded by Steve Harris in East London in 1975, IRON MAIDEN developed from an ambitious young heavy metal band into one of the genre’s most successful and influential international acts.

Their early recordings helped establish the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, combining powerful guitar harmonies, galloping bass lines, dramatic songwriting and elaborate imagery.

Rather than concentrating on the group’s entire discography, the anniversary tour has focused on material from their first nine studio albums, released between 1980 and 1992.

Those records include:

  1. Iron Maiden (1980)
  2. Killers (1981)
  3. The Number Of The Beast (1982)
  4. Piece Of Mind (1983)
  5. Powerslave (1984)
  6. Somewhere In Time (1986)
  7. Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son (1988)
  8. No Prayer For The Dying (1990)
  9. Fear Of The Dark (1992)

Together, these albums contain many of the most celebrated songs in heavy metal history.

The tour has given fans an opportunity to experience a setlist dedicated to this enormously influential period.

For younger audiences, it has offered a spectacular introduction to the music that established IRON MAIDEN as international legends.

For fans who grew up listening to those records, it has been a chance to revisit some of their favourite songs on an enormous stage.

🔥 What Songs Will IRON MAIDEN Play In 2027?

Although the band have not confirmed the exact setlist for the newly announced concerts, the Run For Your Lives production has featured an impressive selection of classic material.

Songs performed during the anniversary celebrations have included:

  • The Number Of The Beast
  • The Trooper
  • Run To The Hills
  • Hallowed Be Thy Name
  • Powerslave
  • 2 Minutes To Midnight
  • Aces High
  • Phantom Of The Opera
  • Killers
  • Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
  • Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
  • Wasted Years
  • Fear Of The Dark
  • Iron Maiden

The selection celebrates an extraordinary period of the band’s musical development.

From the raw aggression of their early recordings to the ambitious progressive arrangements of Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, the tour demonstrates just how much IRON MAIDEN achieved during their formative decades.

Naturally, the precise setlist may change before the 2027 performances.

However, the band have confirmed that the final leg will retain the anniversary show’s focus on their career-defining early albums.

🎬 IRON MAIDEN Promise Their Full Spectacular Stage Production

One of the biggest attractions of the Run For Your Lives World Tour has been its enormous production.

IRON MAIDEN have always been famous for their visually spectacular concerts, combining detailed stage sets, dramatic lighting, pyrotechnics and appearances from their unmistakable mascot Eddie.

For the 50th anniversary celebrations, the band introduced an ambitious new production featuring massive video screens and elaborate visual sequences inspired by their classic album artwork.

The stage changes throughout the performance, transporting audiences through different periods of the band’s history.

Iconic images from albums such as Powerslave, Somewhere In Time and The Number Of The Beast become part of the live spectacle.

The result is a celebration that combines the band’s musical legacy with the extraordinary artwork and theatrical presentation that have defined their identity.

And importantly, the band have confirmed that the complete Run For Your Lives production will accompany the 2027 dates.

Fans attending the new concerts will therefore receive the full anniversary experience rather than a reduced version of the show.

🏆 An Extraordinary Milestone – 107 Concerts, 36 Countries And Three Million Fans

When the final curtain falls in May 2027, the Run For Your Lives World Tour is expected to have achieved some extraordinary figures.

107

Concerts

36

Countries

3M+

Fans

Projected totals for the complete Run For Your Lives World Tour, 2025–2027.

Those numbers demonstrate the scale of IRON MAIDEN’s enduring popularity.

Very few heavy metal bands can maintain such enormous international demand after five decades.

Even fewer can continue attracting new generations of fans while retaining the loyalty of those who supported them during their earliest years.

For IRON MAIDEN, the anniversary tour has demonstrated that their music remains as relevant to audiences today as it was during the 1980s.

🎟️ IRON MAIDEN 2027 – Ticket And Presale Information

Fans hoping to attend the final Run For Your Lives concerts should make a note of the following important dates.

  • 10:00am local time

General Ticket Sale

Additional ticket presales will take place throughout the week.

The band will also offer selected VIP experiences, including access to the official TROOPER pre-show party, exclusive merchandise and reserved seating packages.

Festival tickets for Sonic Temple and Boardwalk Rock will follow the respective festivals’ ticketing arrangements.

Ticket prices will vary depending on the venue, seating category and package selected.

Fans are encouraged to use authorised ticketing outlets and check the relevant venue’s information before making purchases.

🤘 Does This Mean IRON MAIDEN Are Retiring?

This is an important distinction.

No – IRON MAIDEN have not announced their retirement as a band.

The group have specifically confirmed that the 2027 concerts will be the final performances of the Run For Your Lives World Tour.

That does not automatically mean they will never tour or perform again.

The band had originally intended to take a break during 2027, and their decision to schedule additional concerts reflects the enthusiastic response to the current anniversary celebrations.

No further tours beyond these newly announced dates have been confirmed.

However, fans should not interpret the end of Run For Your Lives as an announcement that IRON MAIDEN’s entire live career is coming to an end.

For now, the focus remains firmly on delivering one final spectacular celebration of the band’s first 50 years.

🖤 The Legacy Of IRON MAIDEN Continues

IRON MAIDEN’s influence on heavy metal is almost impossible to overstate.

From the moment their self-titled debut album arrived in 1980, the band helped transform the sound and presentation of British heavy metal.

Their combination of melodic guitar harmonies, historical and literary themes, galloping rhythms and elaborate theatrical productions established a musical identity unlike any other.

Over the decades, they have inspired countless musicians across traditional metal, thrash, power metal, progressive metal and numerous other genres.

Their albums have sold millions of copies worldwide, and their concerts continue to attract enormous international audiences.

They have also maintained a distinctive independence, building their reputation through relentless touring and the loyalty of their fans.

And with the Run For Your Lives World Tour entering its final chapter, that remarkable relationship between band and audience remains stronger than ever.

🔥 THE RIFF REPORT VERDICT – One Final Victory Lap For Heavy Metal Royalty!

IRON MAIDEN extending their 50th anniversary celebrations into 2027 is fantastic news for North American metal fans who thought they had missed their opportunity to experience the Run For Your Lives World Tour.

The decision to visit regions omitted from the previous tour demonstrates that the band remain enthusiastic about taking their music to as many fans as possible.

And with BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE and THE RAVEN AGE joining the headline dates, the new tour also promises an outstanding all-British celebration of heavy metal.

For us here at The Riff Report Blog, seeing Welsh metal giants BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE sharing the road with IRON MAIDEN makes the announcement even more exciting.

From the industrial heartlands of East London to stadiums and arenas across the world, IRON MAIDEN have spent five decades demonstrating why they remain one of the most important bands in heavy metal history.

Now, with 16 additional dates confirmed, fans have one final opportunity to experience their extraordinary 50th anniversary production.

Sixteen more concerts. Three British metal bands. One final celebration of 50 years of IRON MAIDEN.

This really is the last Run For Your Lives tour leg – but it isn’t a farewell to IRON MAIDEN themselves!

SCREAM FOR ME, NORTH AMERICA!

UP THE IRONS! 🤘💀🔥

Stay tuned to The Riff Report Blog for more IRON MAIDEN news, tour announcements and everything happening across the world of rock and heavy metal.

🎸 About Michael Michael is the founder, editor and chief riff wrangler of The Riff Report, an independent Welsh rock, metal and alternative music publication built by fans, for fans. A lifelong rock and metal fan, Michael has spent years immersed in the music, culture and community that surround the heavier side of life. From discovering new bands and digging through classic albums to standing in muddy festival fields, squeezing into packed venues and spending far too much time near the front of a stage, music has always been much more than background noise — it is a massive part of who he is. That passion eventually became The Riff Report, a publication created to celebrate the bands, artists, venues, festivals, photographers, promoters and fans who keep the rock and metal world turning. Michael spends much of the year covering gigs, festivals, tours, album releases, new singles, interviews and music news, with a camera never too far away and a press pass usually hanging somewhere around his neck. Whether it is a huge arena show, a major outdoor festival or a tiny grassroots venue packed with people discovering their new favourite band, he believes every part of the scene has stories worth telling. For Michael, one of the biggest joys of music journalism is being able to shine a light on artists at every level. The Riff Report is just as interested in the hungry independent band playing to 50 people as it is in the global act headlining to 50,000. Supporting unsigned, independent and grassroots musicians is a huge part of the publication’s identity, because every legendary band started somewhere. Sometimes the next big thing is not on a massive billboard or a major-label playlist — sometimes they are crammed onto a tiny stage in a pub, plugging in their own gear and hoping somebody in the room remembers their name. Michael wants The Riff Report to be one of the places that remembers.
