The Riff Report Gaming Nights – Rock Hard, Play Harder!

Turn the amps down for five minutes.

Grab a controller.

Crack open the snacks.

And prepare for absolute digital carnage.

Welcome to The Riff Report Gaming Nights — where the riffs are loud, the competition is questionable and somebody will absolutely blame lag when they lose. 🤘🎮

🔥 Rock Hard, Play Harder!

The Riff Report might spend most of its time talking about gigs, festivals, bands and all things gloriously noisy, but sometimes even the most dedicated riff addict needs to swap the mosh pit for a multiplayer lobby.

That’s where Riff Report Gaming Nights come in.

These are relaxed, community-focused gaming sessions bringing together readers, friends, musicians, gamers and fellow rock and metal fans for an evening of laughs, chaos and probably some spectacularly bad decision-making.

No serious esports nonsense required.

No screaming at people because they picked the wrong loadout.

Just good people, good games and plenty of banter.

🎸 Rock Fans. Gamers. One Big Community.

Gaming and rock music have always gone together ridiculously well.

Heavy soundtracks.

Boss battles.

Racing games played far too aggressively.

Online shooters where somebody inevitably disappears around a corner and immediately regrets it.

And horror games where at least one person insists they “weren’t scared” while clearly screaming into the microphone.

Riff Report Gaming Nights are about bringing those worlds together.

Whether you spend every night gaming or only know which button makes your character jump, you’re welcome.

👾 What Do We Play?

Pretty much anything that looks like it could cause a laugh.

Gaming Nights can include:

  • Multiplayer shooters
  • Racing games
  • Party games
  • Co-op adventures
  • Sports games
  • Fighting games
  • Horror games
  • Survival games
  • Retro classics
  • Music and rhythm games
  • Random multiplayer chaos we probably discovered ten minutes before starting

Some nights might be competitive.

Others might involve four people attempting a simple objective and failing repeatedly for two hours.

Both count as entertainment.

🏆 Is It Competitive?

Technically?

Sometimes.

Emotionally?

Absolutely.

There might be bragging rights involved.

There might be unofficial champions.

There might even be the occasional tournament or challenge night.

But the whole point of Riff Report Gaming Nights is having a laugh and bringing the community together.

You don’t need to be brilliant at gaming.

You don’t need expensive equipment.

And you definitely don’t need to know what every single setting in the options menu does.

Turn up.

Play.

Have a laugh.

That’s it.

🤘 Who Can Join?

Gaming Nights are aimed at the wider Riff Report community.

That means readers, followers, gig-goers, musicians, friends of the site and anyone else who enjoys rock, metal, gaming and a bit of good-natured chaos.

We want the sessions to feel like hanging out with mates after a gig.

Except nobody has to find a taxi home afterwards.

🎤 Bands & Musicians Welcome

We’d also love to see bands and musicians getting involved.

Fancy taking on your fans?

Think your drummer is secretly unbeatable at racing games?

Want to settle an argument inside the band without somebody throwing a cymbal?

Gaming Nights can be a cracking way for artists and fans to interact away from the usual interview format.

Because sometimes the best way to discover somebody’s true personality is watching them lose horribly at a video game.

😂 Expect Absolute Chaos

Riff Report Gaming Nights may contain:

🎮 Terrible driving
🤘 Questionable tactics
💀 Completely unnecessary deaths
😂 Bad impressions
🎤 Random music conversations
🔥 Overconfident predictions
🏆 Dubious victories
😡 Somebody blaming the controller
🍕 Snacks appearing at inappropriate moments
🎸 Plenty of rock and metal chat

Professionalism is not guaranteed.

Fun absolutely is.

❤️ More Than Just Gaming

The Riff Report has always been about more than just publishing articles.

It’s about building a community around the music we love.

That means gigs.

Festivals.

Meet-ups.

Conversations.

Supporting bands.

Supporting venues.

And sometimes sitting online laughing because somebody has just driven a perfectly good virtual car straight into a wall.

Gaming Nights are another way for us all to hang out, have a laugh and enjoy being part of the same brilliantly noisy community.

📅 When Are Gaming Nights?

Dates, games, platforms and joining information will be announced through The Riff Report and our social channels.

Each Gaming Night may be slightly different depending on what we’re playing and which platforms are involved.

Keep an eye on our updates and get ready to jump in.

🎮 Ready To Play?

You’ve survived the festival toilets.

You’ve survived the overpriced venue pint.

You’ve survived standing behind the tallest person in Wales at a gig.

Surely you can survive one evening of Riff Report gaming.

Probably.

Grab your controller.

Warm up those thumbs.

Turn the volume up.

And get ready for The Riff Report Gaming Nights.

🤘 Rock Hard. Play Harder.

Because the only thing better than a massive riff…

…is a massive riff playing while you absolutely destroy your mates at a video game. 🎮🔥

The Riff Report — riffs, games, chaos and community.
