UK metalheads, get those neck muscles warmed up because Allegaeon and Gorod are heading our way this September for the ‘Tech It Easy!’ UK Tour 2026 — and they’re bringing Defects along as special guests.
Running from 8–13 September 2026, the six-date run will tear through Southampton, Nottingham, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and London.
And despite the wonderfully chilled-out name, we suspect there’ll be absolutely bugger all “easy” about what happens once these bands plug in. 😈
🔥 ALLEGAEON + GOROD + DEFECTS
At the top of this technical metal pile are Allegaeon, bringing their precision riffing, melodic brutality and musicianship across the Atlantic.
Joining them are French technical death metal masters Gorod, a band capable of producing the sort of riffs that make guitarists stare at their fretboards afterwards and reconsider every decision they’ve ever made.
Then we’ve got Defects joining proceedings as special guests.
The London metallers bring a modern, ferocious edge to the package, meaning this isn’t simply an evening for people who like counting unusual time signatures while stroking their beards.
There should be pits.
There should be sweat.
There will almost certainly be somebody standing near the front shouting:
“HOW THE HELL ARE THEY PLAYING THAT?!”

Six nights on the bounce.
No messing about.
Southampton gets to light the fuse before the tour rumbles north through Nottingham, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds, with everything eventually crashing into The Underworld in London on 13 September.
That final night could be an absolute belter.
🎸 ALLEGAEON ARE ENTERING A NEW ERA
The tour also arrives during a particularly interesting chapter for Allegaeon.
The Colorado technical melodic death metal outfit are preparing to unleash their new album Artificial Icons on 16 October 2026 via Mascot Records.
That means these UK shows arrive just over a month before the record lands.
Perfect timing, then, for fans to potentially get a taste of the band’s latest material in a sweaty venue with several hundred other metalheads losing their collective minds.
Among the new material already emerging from the record is ‘Signs’, featuring Matt Heafy of Trivium.
If that’s any indication of the level Allegaeon are operating at heading into Artificial Icons, September could provide UK audiences with one hell of a preview.
🧠 GOROD: RIFFS WITH A DEGREE IN ADVANCED MATHEMATICS
And then there’s Gorod.
Sweet suffering Satan.
For anyone unfamiliar with the French outfit, prepare for technical death metal that can seemingly change direction seventeen times before you’ve finished your pint.
Gorod have spent years building a reputation for combining ridiculous musicianship with genuinely memorable songwriting — an important distinction in a genre where technical ability can occasionally disappear up its own arse.
Their music twists.
It turns.
It grooves.
Then just when you think you’ve figured out what’s happening…
BANG.
Another riff comes flying through the wall.
Seeing Allegaeon and Gorod sharing the same bill should therefore be an absolute feast for guitar nerds, drummers and anyone who enjoys their metal complicated, crushing and ridiculously well played.
💥 DEFECTS COMPLETE THE BILL
Adding Defects as special guests gives this tour another dimension entirely.
Rather than simply stacking three bands doing variations of the same thing, Defects bring their own contemporary heaviness into proceedings.
It’s the sort of combination we bloody love seeing.
You’ve got Allegaeon’s melodic technical assault.
You’ve got Gorod’s brain-melting death metal.
Then Defects arrive ready to throw another bucket of petrol over everything.
Job done.
🤘 SMALLER VENUES + RIDICULOUS BANDS = CHAOS
There’s another reason we’re particularly excited about this run.
Look at those venues.
The Underworld.
BOOM.
Rebellion.
Rescue Rooms.
These aren’t enormous arenas where you’re watching somebody perform from approximately the same distance as the International Space Station.
These are proper sweaty rock and metal venues.
You know the ones.
Low ceilings.
Loud amps.
Beer mysteriously appearing on the floor approximately eleven seconds after doors open.
Someone’s hair repeatedly ending up in your pint.
Lovely stuff.
Technical metal can be absolutely devastating in these environments because you can actually feel everything happening.
Every kick drum.
Every bass hit.
Every ludicrous guitar run.
Every breakdown.
Right in the chest.
And with three bands capable of delivering serious punishment, ‘Tech It Easy!’ could become one of September’s sleeper heavy tours.
