Well, there goes our faint glimmer of hope, mun. Faith No More keyboard wizard Roddy Bottum has officially slammed the door shut on any kind of reunion with the legendary alternative metal outfit โ and thatโs a proper gut punch for fans whoโve been holding out since the band went silent in 2016.
The genre-defying misfits behind โEpic,โ โMidlife Crisis,โ and โAshes to Ashesโ last performed together nearly a decade ago. Their long-awaited 2021 return was scrapped when frontman Mike Patton stepped back to deal with mental health issues โ a move the band and fans fully supported. But since then, whispers of โmaybe one dayโ have slowly faded into radio silenceโฆ until now.
In a recent chat, Bottum didnโt mince words:
โIโm not open to playing with the band again.โ
That one line hit harder than a King for a Day drum fill, and itโs sent shockwaves through the FNM faithful. To make matters worse, drummer Mike Bordin recently revealed that Patton had gone from being unable to perform with the bandโฆ to being unwilling.
