Just when you thought Metallica couldn’t get any bigger, the metal legends have gone and smashed another attendance record on their colossal M72 World Tour.
Fresh from setting a new record in Athens earlier this year, Metallica rolled into Berlin and turned the city’s iconic Olympiastadion into the biggest heavy metal gathering Germany has ever seen.
The result?
A staggering 94,000 fans packed into the venue, making it the largest concert ever held at Berlin’s Olympiastadion and officially breaking the previous record set by U2 back in 2009.
Not bad for a band that’s been melting faces since the early ’80s.
Metallica’s M72 Tour Is Becoming A Record-Breaking Monster
The M72 World Tour has already been one of the biggest rock and metal tours ever assembled.
Featuring the band’s unique in-the-round stage setup, multiple massive video towers, rotating setlists and enough pyrotechnics to light up half of Europe, Metallica have somehow managed to keep getting bigger despite already being one of the biggest bands on the planet.
Earlier in May, Metallica set a new attendance record at the Athens Olympic Stadium when approximately 90,000 fans turned out to witness the metal giants in action.
Now Berlin has joined the list.
