Manchester, prepare your neck muscles.

Damnation Festival 2026 is heading back to the BEC Arena in Manchester across Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th November 2026, bringing with it a truly disgusting amount of riffs, blast beats, crushing doom and glorious musical violence.

And when we say disgusting, we mean that as the highest possible compliment. 😈

The latest line-up poster is stacked from top to bottom with legendary names, underground destroyers and bands capable of making reinforced concrete quietly reconsider its career choices.

Leading the charge are Cult of Luna and Satyricon, joined by a frankly outrageous collection of extreme-metal heavyweights including Igorrr, Carcass, HEALTH, Crowbar, Triptykon and Wolves in the Throne Room.

Oh, and there are four more bands still to be announced.

Steady on, mun. There are only so many riffs one building can legally contain. 🤘🔥

💀 Cult of Luna Bring the Crushing Atmosphere

Few bands can create an atmosphere quite like Cult of Luna.

The Swedish post-metal titans have built a reputation for huge, cinematic performances that feel less like ordinary gigs and more like being swallowed by an approaching storm.

Their combination of hypnotic repetition, towering guitars and slow-burning intensity should sound absolutely enormous inside the BEC Arena.

This is the sort of band that does not merely play a venue. They consume it.

Expect darkness, distortion and several thousand fans staring towards the stage as though they have collectively witnessed the arrival of an ancient riff-based deity.

🖤 Satyricon Bring Norwegian Black Metal Royalty to Manchester

Alongside Cult of Luna sit one of the most influential names in Norwegian black metal: Satyricon.

Led by Satyr and Frost, the band have spent decades building a catalogue full of darkness, menace and gigantic metal anthems.

Their appearance immediately gives Damnation 2026 that proper sense of occasion. This is not simply another name squeezed onto a festival poster. This is black-metal royalty arriving in Manchester to deliver riffs forged somewhere between a frozen Norwegian forest and the gates of hell.

It is going to be theatrical.

It is going to be sinister.

It is probably going to make your local church bells ring backwards.

🎪 Igorrr Will Make Everything Wonderfully Weird

Then we have Igorrr, because apparently this line-up was not chaotic enough already.

Trying to describe Igorrr to somebody who has never heard them is like trying to explain a fever dream while falling down a staircase.

Their music throws together extreme metal, electronic madness, classical influences, breakcore, opera and whatever else happened to be lying around the studio at the time.

They are unpredictable, bizarre and completely captivating.

At a festival already full of heaviness, Igorrr offer something even more dangerous: the possibility that nobody in the room will have the faintest clue what is about to happen next.

Lovely stuff. 😈

🔪 Carcass Return to Deliver Surgical Riffage

Liverpool legends Carcass need very little introduction.

From their grindcore beginnings to their hugely influential melodic death-metal records, Carcass have played a massive role in shaping extreme music.

Their riffs are sharp enough to require their own risk assessment, while their performances remain tight, brutal and properly exhilarating.

The moment those guitars kick in, Manchester is going to erupt into pits, flying hair and grown adults suddenly remembering that they have work on Monday.

Future back pain is temporary.

Carcass riffs are forever. 🤘

⚡ HEALTH Bring Industrial Darkness

One of the most intriguing names on the bill is HEALTH.

The Los Angeles group have developed a distinctive sound built from industrial electronics, crushing low-end weight, bleak atmosphere and haunting melody.

They occupy a fascinating space between metal, noise, dark electronic music and something that sounds suspiciously like the soundtrack to civilisation collapsing beneath neon lights.

Their inclusion shows exactly why Damnation remains such an exciting festival.

This is not a lazy collection of bands that all sound the same. It is a carefully assembled celebration of everything dark, heavy, strange and confrontational.

🐌 Crowbar Are Coming to Flatten Manchester

If heavy riffs had a physical weight, Crowbar would require specialist lifting equipment.

The New Orleans sludge-metal veterans have spent decades producing music that sounds like buildings slowly collapsing in extreme humidity.

Their combination of crushing guitars, emotional honesty and Kirk Windstein’s unmistakable vocals has made them one of the most respected names in heavy music.

There will be no fancy nonsense required here.

Just enormous riffs, heads moving in unison and enough heaviness to push Manchester several inches further into the ground.

Proper job.

🔥 Triptykon Bring the Darkness

Also confirmed are Triptykon, led by Celtic Frost legend Tom Gabriel Warrior.

Triptykon’s music is oppressive, dramatic and deeply atmospheric, blending doom, black metal, gothic darkness and crushing rhythmic weight.

This is music that feels ancient.

It does not rush towards you. It waits patiently in the shadows before slowly removing the oxygen from the room.

Their set could easily become one of the weekend’s defining performances, particularly for fans who want their metal bleak, intelligent and absolutely massive.

🌲 Wolves in the Throne Room Summon the Wilderness

American atmospheric black-metal masters Wolves in the Throne Room are another huge addition.

Their sprawling compositions combine black-metal intensity with an almost spiritual connection to nature, creating performances that feel immersive rather than simply aggressive.

Inside an industrial venue in Manchester, their music should create a fascinating contrast: wild forests and mist-covered mountains summoned through amps, drums and walls of distortion.

It will be intense, hypnotic and probably the closest anybody gets that weekend to being transported into another realm without accidentally eating a suspicious festival brownie.

💥 The Rest of the Line-Up Is Ridiculous

The strength of Damnation Festival has never rested solely upon the largest names.

Its bills are built for the kind of music fans who study festival posters like ancient manuscripts, circling bands and planning stage movements months in advance.

The 2026 line-up also features an enormous collection of heavy and underground talent, including:

Walls of Jericho, Eyehategod, Corrosion of Conformity, The Berzerker, Benediction, Pelican, Weekend Nachos, MØL, Frontierer, Slow Crush, Holy Fawn, Hippotraktor, Wormed, The Moth Gatherer, Black Sheep Wall, Intercourse and Fange.

That is an absurd mixture of hardcore, doom, sludge, grind, post-metal, death metal, black metal, noise and experimental brutality.

You could walk into the venue with one favourite band and leave with twelve new patches, an empty bank account and tinnitus with its own postcode.

🏟️ Two Days of Indoor Festival Chaos

Damnation’s indoor format makes it one of the most distinctive events in the UK heavy-music calendar.

There are no tents attempting to escape across a muddy campsite.

There are no wellies filled with rainwater.

There is no trying to decide whether the grey cloud approaching from the distance contains drizzle or the wrath of an angry weather god.

Instead, fans get two concentrated days of extreme music inside the BEC Arena.

It is a festival experience stripped down to the essentials:

🎸 Huge bands
💀 Underground discoveries
🍺 Festival refreshments
🛍️ Dangerous amounts of merchandise
🤘 A community of proper music fanatics
🔥 Enough riffs to invalidate several insurance policies

The atmosphere at Damnation has always been a major part of its appeal. It feels like a gathering created by heavy-music fans for heavy-music fans, without the unnecessary fluff found at some larger events.

Nobody is attending because they saw a trendy outfit on social media.

They are there because somebody promised them doom riffs at approximately 2:30 in the afternoon.

👀 Four More Bands Are Still Coming

Perhaps the most exciting detail on the poster is the message at the bottom:

“And four bands to be announced…”

Yes, somehow this line-up still has room to grow.

With the festival already boasting artists of this calibre, speculation will inevitably begin over who could fill those remaining spaces.

More extreme-metal legends?

A rare UK appearance?

A cult favourite returning from the dead?

A surprise act capable of causing every metal forum in Britain to burst into flames?

Whatever happens, Damnation has already delivered one of the most impressive heavy bills of 2026.

Anything added from here is just another brick being hurled onto an already dangerously overloaded wall of sound.

🤘 The Riff Report Verdict

Damnation Festival 2026 looks absolutely colossal.

Cult of Luna and Satyricon provide two completely different but equally compelling headline-level experiences, while Carcass, Igorrr, HEALTH, Crowbar, Triptykon and Wolves in the Throne Room give the upper reaches of the poster ridiculous strength.

Further down, the line-up remains packed with serious talent and enough variety to keep even the most committed underground-metal obsessive happily running between stages.

This is dark music without boundaries.

It is heavy, weird, experimental, emotional, abrasive and gloriously uncompromising.

Manchester is about to become the centre of the extreme-music universe for one thunderous November weekend—and judging by this poster, the BEC Arena may never be quite the same again.

Pack the ear protection.

Stretch the neck.

Hide the bank card from the merch stalls.

Damnation Festival 2026 is coming, butt—and it looks absolutely savage. 🤘💀🔥

Michael

🎸 About Michael Michael is the founder, editor and chief riff wrangler of The Riff Report, an independent Welsh rock, metal and alternative music publication built by fans, for fans. A lifelong rock and metal fan, Michael has spent years immersed in the music, culture and community that surround the heavier side of life. From discovering new bands and digging through classic albums to standing in muddy festival fields, squeezing into packed venues and spending far too much time near the front of a stage, music has always been much more than background noise — it is a massive part of who he is. That passion eventually became The Riff Report, a publication created to celebrate the bands, artists, venues, festivals, photographers, promoters and fans who keep the rock and metal world turning. Michael spends much of the year covering gigs, festivals, tours, album releases, new singles, interviews and music news, with a camera never too far away and a press pass usually hanging somewhere around his neck. Whether it is a huge arena show, a major outdoor festival or a tiny grassroots venue packed with people discovering their new favourite band, he believes every part of the scene has stories worth telling. For Michael, one of the biggest joys of music journalism is being able to shine a light on artists at every level. The Riff Report is just as interested in the hungry independent band playing to 50 people as it is in the global act headlining to 50,000. Supporting unsigned, independent and grassroots musicians is a huge part of the publication’s identity, because every legendary band started somewhere. Sometimes the next big thing is not on a massive billboard or a major-label playlist — sometimes they are crammed onto a tiny stage in a pub, plugging in their own gear and hoping somebody in the room remembers their name. Michael wants The Riff Report to be one of the places that remembers.
