HKSPK are a Black/Death Metal band from Brandenburg, Germany, formed in 2023 by Jim, Leon and Arne. Combining the cold atmosphere of black metal with the crushing weight of death metal, the trio have developed a sound built around direct songwriting, dark melody, doom-laden heaviness and flashes of punk and hardcore energy.
The band began after an early jam session that quickly turned into something more serious. Their first rehearsal focused on simple black metal covers, but by their second session they had already written an original track that would later become ‘Holy Scum’. From that point, HKSPK moved quickly, choosing to write, record and perform rather than wait for the perfect moment.
Jim handles vocals and lead guitar, Leon plays rhythm guitar and Arne plays drums. HKSPK maintain a completely independent approach to their music, with songwriting, arrangements, recording, mixing and mastering all handled within the band.
Their debut album, Holy Scum, was released in 2024, followed by the five-track EP The Human Butcher in 2025. Those early releases established HKSPK’s raw and uncompromising sound, while the 2026 singles ‘Torture’ and ‘Rot In Despair’ introduced clearer production, stronger melodic elements and increasingly personal lyrical themes.
Their second full-length album, Heimkehr, is set for release on 11 September 2026. Across eight tracks, the record blends black metal and death metal with atmospheric passages, doom influences, traditional death metal riffing and the direct aggression of punk and hardcore.
Lyrically, HKSPK draw from personal experiences, stories from their surroundings and historical themes. Subjects including war, revenge, memory, inner collapse and the setbacks experienced by the band are transformed into music that remains grounded in reality while amplifying its darker edges.
HKSPK have also built a growing reputation as a live band, performing across Germany and the Czech Republic. They have shared stages with Asagraum, Enisum and Waldgeflüster, while appearances have included M.U.R. Open Air, Godless Mountain Open Air, Summer Ends, Schaf City Open Air and a headline show in Brno.
The band have received coverage from German and international outlets including LEGACY, RAMzine, Whiskey Soda, Rock Era Magazine, Acta Infernalis, FATAL Underground and Slowly We Rot.
With Heimkehr marking the next stage of their development, HKSPK are now looking towards the 2027 festival season, alongside selected club shows and support opportunities across Europe.
At the heart of HKSPK remains the same approach that started the band in 2023: three musicians writing heavy music on their own terms, developing everything independently and letting the riffs, atmosphere and intensity speak for themselves.
