🎤 OASIS LIVE ’25 – HEATON PARK – FRIDAY 11TH JULY – FULL GIG REVIEW 🤘🍻
“The gig Manchester’s been waiting 16 years for – and aye, you had to roll with it!”
🛑 TL;DR:
Liam and Noel back together? Proper biblical. The sun was scorchio, the beers were lukewarm, and the setlist? Wall-to-wall bangers. From “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star” to “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” this was more than a gig — it was a Manc pilgrimage. 🕊️
🎸 THE REUNION OF THE DECADE
After 16 years of bust-ups, bitter interviews, and broken dreams, the Gallagher brothers finally shook hands (metaphorically) and plugged in their guitars. The message across the stage screens before they emerged said it all:
“THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”
What followed was two hours of nostalgia-fuelled anthems, chaotic crowd chants, and emotional singalongs. Heaton Park became the centre of the universe – or at least, it bloody felt like it.
🎤 SETLIST – EVERY BELTER THEY PLAYED
They didn’t hold back. Here’s what they actually played on Friday night:
- Fucking in the Bushes (Intro Tape – crowd erupts)
- Rock ’n’ Roll Star
- Morning Glory
- Supersonic
- Cigarettes & Alcohol
- Stand By Me
- The Hindu Times
- Go Let It Out
- Slide Away
- Little by Little
- The Masterplan
- Columbia
- Champagne Supernova
- Live Forever
Encore:
15. Whatever
16. Roll With It
17. Wonderwall
18. Don’t Look Back in Anger (sung by everyone and their nan)
💬 Liam before “Wonderwall”: “This one’s for Bonehead – the real reason we’re here, innit?”
💬 Noel before “Don’t Look Back…”: “Even I’ve missed singing this with you lot.”
🍔 FOOD & DRINK PRICES – BRING YOUR CARD AND YOUR WAGES
Let’s be real – Heaton Park wasn’t cheap, and inflation’s clearly a Wonderwall away from madness.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Pint of Lager (Carlsberg or Madri) | £7.50 |
| G&T or Pre-mix Can | £8.00 |
| Water (Still or Sparkling) | £2.80 |
| Classic Cheeseburger | £10.00 |
| Dirty Fries (Bacon + Cheese) | £9.00 |
| Vegan Wrap | £9.50 |
| Sausage Roll (Greggs nowhere in sight 😢) | £4.50 |
| Ice Cream Tub (melting rapidly) | £5.00 |
TIP: Some vendors charged £1 for sauce. I was tamping, mun.
💧 WATER REFILL POINTS – STAY HYDRATED OR COLLAPSE IN STYLE
Good news, sweaty legends! There were four official refill points across the park:
- 🌊 Near the North Entrance
- 🌊 By the Accessible Viewing Platform
- 🌊 Left side of the main bar strip
- 🌊 Hidden behind the VIP Toilets (if you could blag your way in)
Queues were long, so fill up early and often. Security did allow sealed 500ml bottles through, which was lush in that 30°C heat.
🌞 THE HEAT, THE BUCKET HATS, THE MANCS
Manchester brought the vibes. From bucket hats with Union Jacks to homemade T-shirts with “Where were you while we were getting high?”, the fans made this feel like Glasto in a football stadium. AO were even giving out free Oasis-themed hats and phone chargers at the tram stop earlier in the day (tidy, that).
🚊 GETTING THERE – A MISSION AND A HALF
Many were told to walk after tram delays hit 90 minutes. The city had clearly underestimated Gallagher Mania™. People legged it, jogged it, even scootered it down to Heaton Park with pints in hand.
🧃 VIBE CHECK
- Best moment? “Live Forever” into “Champagne Supernova.” Honestly, pure spiritual awakening.
- Worst moment? £7.50 for a warm pint with no head.
- Funniest? Bloke in a Man City shirt got hoisted up during “Wonderwall” and shouted, “Liam for Mayor!”
🧻 CAN YOU BRING…?
Here’s what was allowed and what got binned:
| Item | Allowed? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Small bags (under A4) | ✅ | Searched on entry |
| Sealed water (500ml max) | ✅ | 1 per person |
| Reusable bottles | ✅ | If empty |
| Camping chairs | ❌ | Not a festival, butt! |
| Umbrellas | ❌ | Rain stayed away anyway |
| Flare guns / inflatable bananas | ❌ | Guess which one security confiscated 👀 |
📣 FINAL VERDICT
Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 / 5 – “C’mon you know it was class!”
The Gallaghers gave Manchester what it had been begging for since 2009 – a sweaty, shouty, swagger-filled night of love, loudness, and lighters in the sky. Was it perfect? Nah. But it wasn’t about perfection. It was about Oasis being bloody Oasis again.
And as the crowd sang the final notes of “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” you could feel it: Manchester healed a bit tonight.
