£10 to park… and your soul to escape
Right. Let’s talk about the real headliner of the night — and no, it’s not whoever just melted your face off on stage…
It’s the absolute carnage that is Copr Bay South Multi-Storey Car Park after a gig.
Because nothing — and I mean NOTHING — prepares you for that post-show experience.
🎤 THE GIG WAS MENTAL… UNTIL IT ENDED
You’ve just come out of the venue:
- Ears ringing 🔊
- Voice gone from screaming lyrics 🎶
- Sweaty, buzzing, living your best life 🤘
You’re thinking:
“That was unreal. Easy drive home now.”
Oh you sweet, innocent rock goblin.
💸 £10 PARKING – A BARGAIN? NAH, A BETRAYAL
Ten quid.
TEN.
POUNDS.
For what exactly?
- A concrete maze that feels like it was designed by someone who hates humanity 😐
- Zero escape plan
- And about 400 cars all trying to leave at the same time like it’s a zombie outbreak 🧟♂️
For £10 you’d expect:
- Traffic marshals
- A fast-track exit lane
- Complimentary snacks (Greggs, obviously)
Instead, you get… stress.
🚗 THE GREAT ESCAPE (SPOILER: YOU WON’T)
You get in your car. Engine on. Optimism high.
Then…
Nothing.
Absolutely NOTHING.
Just a sea of brake lights glowing like some sort of dystopian Christmas display 🔴✨
⏱ TIMELINE OF A BROKEN HUMAN
0–5 minutes:
“Yeah fair enough, loads of people leaving.”
10 minutes:
“Bit slow, but we’ll get moving now.”
15 minutes:
“Why is that same Vauxhall Corsa still in front of me??”
20 minutes:
“I could’ve walked to Cardiff by now.”
30 minutes:
“I no longer believe in freedom.”
🧠 MENTAL BREAKDOWN: THE SEQUEL
You start doing things you never thought you would:
- Making eye contact with strangers like you’re in a support group 👀
- Giving a polite nod to the car next to you (you are now bonded for life)
- Considering abandoning your vehicle and just living in the stairwell
At one point, someone reversed slightly and the entire floor reacted like it was a mosh pit moment.
🤘 POST-GIG ENDURANCE TEST
Forget the pit.
Forget the encore.
This is the real test:
- Clutch control of a Formula 1 driver 🏎
- Patience of a saint 😇
- Emotional stability of someone who’s just paid £10 for THIS
🔥 RIFF REPORT OFFICIAL VERDICT
Copr Bay South Multi-Storey Car Park
⭐ Exit Speed: Slower than a doom metal breakdown
⭐ Value for Money: I’ve been robbed, officer
⭐ Vibes: Pure psychological warfare
Overall Rating:
🤘🔥 “Would rather crowd surf down the M4” 🔥🤘
🍻 FINAL THOUGHTS (FROM A MAN WHO’S SEEN THINGS)
Next time, butt:
- Park miles away and stretch your legs 🚶♂️
- Get a taxi (sell a kidney if needed) 💸
- Camp in the venue until 2am like a gremlin 💤
- Or just accept your fate and bring snacks
Because nothing — NOTHING — kills that post-gig buzz faster than sitting in a car park questioning your life decisions while a bloke in a Fiesta refuses to indicate.
🤘 YOUR TURN
Got stuck in the Copr Bay chaos too?
Drop your horror stories — we’re building a support group, and honestly… we might need therapy after this one 😅🔥
