Prog-metal giants Dream Theater have officially scrapped their planned 2026 UK and European tour, leaving fans across the pond absolutely tamping, mun. 😤
The band, currently riding the wave of their reunion with Mike Portnoy, announced the news with a statement that left European fans scratching their heads — and maybe checking flight prices to New York.
“There’s still time to come on over to the States to catch this show,” they teased in a recent post, suggesting that for now, America’s the only place to witness their long-awaited full classic lineup back on stage together.
The cancellation comes as a surprise after early chatter of a 2026 European leg circulated online. Sources close to the band hinted that scheduling conflicts and production logistics may have played a part — or maybe they just didn’t fancy another round of soggy festival fields and questionable backstage tea. ☕🎸
Dream Theater’s current North American run has been a prog fan’s dream — a mammoth setlist, deep cuts galore, and some serious “musician’s musician” moments that have fans drooling over the fretboard work. 🎶🤘
European fans, however, have been quick to voice their frustration online:
💬 “I’ve waited 15 years to see the original lineup back together and now they tell us to fly to America?! You paying for the ticket, lads?”
💬 “Dream Theater? More like Flight Theater – might as well get an EasyJet sponsorship.”
Still, hope’s not completely lost — insiders say the band could revisit European dates later in 2026 if demand remains sky-high.
Until then, unless you fancy blowing your festival savings on flights to Chicago, Dream Theater live remains a Stateside-only spectacle.
C’mon lads, give us a bit of Metropolis Part 1 in Manchester, yeah? 🏴☠️🎤
