Well butt, if you thought Slash only dealt in thunderous riffs and iconic top hats, think again. The Guns Nโ Roses axe-slinger has just added another string to his (already massive) bow โ heโs stepped into the world of TV as executive producer for the upcoming UK serial killer drama The Crow Girl.
From โSweet Child Oโ Mineโ to Sweet Child oโ Crime
Adapted from the dark and twisted Swedish crime novel trilogy by Erik Axl Sund, The Crow Girl promises a grim, psychological dive into murder, trauma, and all the nasty little corners of the human mind. Exactly the sort of thing you wouldnโt expect the man behind โParadise Cityโ to get his mitts on โ but if you know Slashโs taste for horror and all things macabre, it actually makes perfect sense.
Heโs no stranger to the big screen either. Back in 2010, Slash co-founded Slasher Films, a production company that dropped the gruesome flick Nothing Left to Fear. Clearly, the manโs been itching to blend his rock โnโ roll swagger with spine-chilling storytelling again โ and now heโs back, perched behind the scenes with his executive producer hat (and maybe still his top hat) firmly on.
Slash + Serial Killers = Sinister Soundtrack Potential?
While it hasnโt been confirmed whether Slash will also get involved musically, fans canโt help but daydream: imagine eerie riffs sliding under tense interrogation scenes, or a gnarly solo kicking in as the killerโs revealed. ๐ค๐ฅ One thingโs for sure โ his presence guarantees The Crow Girl wonโt just be another paint-by-numbers crime drama.
Rock Stars and the Big Screen
Slash isnโt the first rocker to wander into the land of TV and film. Weโve seen Trent Reznor become an Oscar-winning composer, Rob Zombie reinvent himself as a horror director, and even Bowie dabble as everything from a Goblin King to a vampire. But seeing Slashโs name roll up in the credits of a UK drama feels like one of those โonly in rock โnโ roll, munโ moments.
Whatโs Occurring Next?
The Crow Girl is set to hit UK screens soon โ no official date yet, but the hype train is leaving the station. Whether Slash stays purely behind the camera or sneaks in a cameo (imagine him serving pints in a dive bar scene), this crossover is one for the books.
So, from โWelcome to the Jungleโ to welcome to the dark side of human nature โ Slash has officially gone from shredding stages to shredding psyches. ๐ฅ๐
Tidy! Canโt wait to see it.
