In 1999, members of grindcore noise terrorists The Locust looked at Springer and didn’t see a moral abyss. They saw a stage. A badly guarded one.
At the centre was bassist and vocalist Justin Pearson, already wired differently from the rest of society. Punk to the bone. Suspicious of media. Allergic to sincerity.
They cooked up a fake story for a Springer segment called “Secrets Come Out!” Complete fiction. Fake lovers. Invented bisexual affairs. Manufactured outrage.
