What’s occurring, Bon Jovi fans? The 80s arena rock juggernaut has just announced a reissue of their iconic 1986 album Slippery When Wet – but with a cheeky twist that would make even Jon Bon smirk. This isn’t your standard wax spin… nope, this beast comes water-filled. 💧💿
Yep, the legendary record that gave us Livin’ on a Prayer, You Give Love a Bad Name, and Wanted Dead or Alive is making a splash (literally) with a brand-new collector’s edition pressing. And here’s the kicker: only 1,300 copies are being unleashed worldwide. 🌍 That’s rarer than finding an empty pint glass at the end of a Download weekend.
💦 What the Heck is a Water-Filled Vinyl?
Think of it like those funky snow globes you shake, but instead of Santa and glitter, you’ve got Bon Jovi riffs swirling around. The clear vinyl will be filled with liquid, sloshing about as it spins on your turntable. Not only does it look lush, but it’s also going to be a proper conversation starter at your next rock-n-roll house party. 🥳
🎸 Why Slippery When Wet?
This was the album that turned Bon Jovi from Jersey rock hopefuls into global megastars. It’s sold over 28 million copies, soundtracked a million hair-sprayed nights out, and pretty much defined 80s stadium rock. You couldn’t walk down Queen Street in Cardiff without hearing Livin’ on a Prayer blaring from a pub jukebox.
🤑 How Much Will it Cost Me, Butt?
No official word yet, but expect it to set you back more than your average HMV vinyl pickup. Given how limited it is, we’re talking collector’s territory here – think hundreds, not tens. Proper job if you manage to snag one before the eBay sharks circle. 🦈
⚡ The Riff Report Verdict
This release is equal parts bonkers and brilliant – and we’re here for it. Bon Jovi might be older, greyer, and possibly on their fourth farewell tour by now, but Slippery When Wet remains immortal. And a water-filled vinyl reissue? That’s so daft it’s genius.
Get your wallets ready, because these 1,300 beauties are gonna sell out faster than Jon can shout “Shot through the heart!” ❤️🔥
