Hayrock Festival 2026 is getting closer, the riffs are warming up, the tents are being dragged out of garages across the country, and somebody somewhere is already trying to work out how many cans count as “reasonable personal consumption.” 🍺😅
Taking place from Friday 24 July to Sunday 26 July 2026 at Haydock Park Racecourse, Hayrock is preparing to welcome rock fans for three days of live music, camping and glorious festival chaos.
Before everyone starts throwing tents, boots and enough snacks to survive a small apocalypse into the back of the car, organisers have released the essential festival rules and key information for the weekend.
Here is everything you need to know before heading through the gates.
📍 When and Where Is Hayrock Festival 2026?
Hayrock Festival takes place across three days at the famous Haydock Park Racecourse.

The venue will become a temporary home for rock fans, campers, bands and festival creatures surviving mainly on riffs, questionable sleep and whatever food can be cooked safely on a camping stove.

🏕️ When Does the Hayrock Campsite Open?
Camping guests can arrive from:
Friday 24 July – 9:00am
That gives campers time to find their pitch, wrestle with the tent poles, argue over where the gazebo should go and open the first celebratory drink before the music begins.
Non-camping guests can enter the site from:
Friday 24 July – 10:00am
Day-ticket holders arriving on Saturday and Sunday will be able to enter from:
Saturday 25 July – 9:00am
Sunday 26 July – 9:00am
It is always worth arriving with plenty of time to spare. Festival entrances can get busy, bags may be searched and there is nothing worse than hearing the opening band kick into their first song while you are still stuck outside looking for your ticket confirmation.
🎸 What Time Does the Live Music Begin?
Hayrock Festival is not messing around when it comes to squeezing as much live music as possible into the weekend.
The music begins at:
🎤 Friday – 11:00am
🎤 Saturday – 10:00am
🎤 Sunday – 10:00am
Performances are expected to continue until approximately:
🌙 11:00pm each night
That means three long days of music, noise and festival madness.
Get the coffee in early, mun. There will be very little time for lying around the campsite pretending you are “just resting your eyes.” ☕😂
🚫 Hayrock Festival Prohibited Items
Nobody wants to reach the entrance only to discover that something packed in the car cannot be brought onto the festival site.
Hayrock has published a clear list of prohibited items covering both the arena and campsite.
Illegal Drugs and Controlled Substances
Illegal drugs, psychoactive substances and controlled substances are prohibited.
The exception is prescribed medication intended for personal use.
Anyone bringing prescription medication should keep it in its original packaging where possible and bring any supporting documentation they may need.
Weapons, Knives and Blades
Weapons, knives, blades and tools that could reasonably be used as weapons are not permitted.
Festival security may also refuse entry to any object they consider dangerous, unsuitable or likely to cause harm.
Basically, bring your tent pegs — not the contents of a medieval armoury. ⚔️😅
Fireworks and Pyrotechnics
The following items are banned:
- Fireworks
- Flares
- Smoke canisters
- Explosives
- Personal pyrotechnics
The bands and festival organisers will handle the dramatic displays.
Nobody needs Dave from the campsite attempting his own pyro show after six warm cans of lager.
Glass Bottles and Containers
Glass bottles, glass containers and other glass items are prohibited.
This rule protects everyone on the site from broken glass, especially in camping areas where people may be walking around in sandals, socks or whatever remains attached to their feet by Sunday morning.
Transfer drinks and food into suitable plastic or reusable containers before travelling.
Excessive Alcohol
Festivalgoers must not bring excessive quantities of alcohol onto the site.
Alcohol intended for resale, distribution or group supply is also prohibited.
The policy is designed to allow guests to enjoy themselves responsibly without someone turning their tent into an unofficial supermarket.
Bring enough for your own weekend, enjoy it sensibly and remember to drink some water occasionally. Your Monday-morning self will thank you. 🍺💧
Open Fires, BBQs and Unsafe Cooking Equipment
The following are not permitted:
- Open fires
- Fire pits
- Barbecues
- Unauthorised cooking equipment
- Unsafe fuel containers
Open flames present a serious risk in crowded campsites filled with tents, dry grass and people who may not be paying full attention after a long day in the arena.
However, there is some good news for campers.
✅ Alcohol Stoves and Gazebos Are Allowed
Hayrock has confirmed that:
🔥 Alcohol camping stoves are permitted
🏕️ Gazebos are permitted
That means campers can still prepare hot food and create a covered communal area at their pitch.
Any camping stove should be used carefully, kept away from tents and never left unattended.
Gazebos should also be secured properly. British festival weather has a habit of turning an innocent gazebo into an airborne weapon without giving much warning.
One minute you are sitting underneath it eating breakfast. The next it is halfway to Liverpool.
🚁 Drones and Remote-Controlled Aircraft
Drones, unmanned aerial vehicles and remote-controlled aircraft are prohibited.
These devices can present safety and privacy risks, especially around crowds, stages and operational areas.
Leave the aerial festival photography to authorised professionals.
Your drone does not need to capture cinematic footage of Steve falling over a camping chair.
🔦 Laser Pens and Laser Devices
Laser pens and other laser devices are banned.
Shining lasers towards performers, staff, equipment or other festivalgoers can cause serious injury and disruption.
Keep the light show on the stage where it belongs.
🔊 Large Sound Systems and Generators
Large sound systems, generators and equipment that may cause a nuisance or safety concern are not permitted.
Nobody wants to leave a full day of live bands only to return to the campsite and discover that the people three tents away have brought their own nightclub.
A small speaker used respectfully is one thing. Recreating Donington’s main stage beside the inflatable mattress is another.
👮 Security Has the Final Say
Festival security, venue representatives and event management may refuse any item they reasonably consider:
- Unsafe
- Unsuitable
- Disruptive
- Dangerous
- Likely to cause a nuisance
Even if something is not specifically listed, it may still be refused if staff believe it presents a risk.
The golden rule is simple: pack sensibly and leave anything questionable at home.
