Netflix has officially announced a massive 16-part documentary series diving deep into the untold story of one of rockโs most iconic frontmen โ Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. Titled simply โSTEVEN TYLERโ, the docuseries promises to peel back five decades of mystery, madness, and music behind the โDemon of Screaminโโ himself.
This ambitious project is set to explore every era of Tylerโs incredible โ and often chaotic โ life: from the smoky clubs of 1970s Boston to the stratospheric fame of Dream On, Sweet Emotion, and Walk This Way. The series reportedly features never-before-seen interviews, exclusive archival footage, and dramatic recreations chronicling the highs, lows, and everything in between.
๐ค A Lifetime of Rock, Rebellion & Redemption
Steven Tylerโs life reads like the ultimate rock โnโ roll novel โ full of legendary performances, wild excess, heartbreak, and rebirth. Netflix aims to tell the whole story:
- The rise of Aerosmith from barroom heroes to global superstars.
- Tylerโs creative clashes (and lifelong brotherhood) with guitarist Joe Perry.
- The bandโs near destruction through addiction in the late โ70s.
- Their miraculous MTV-era comeback in the โ80s and โ90s.
- The voice, the fashion, the attitude โ and the secrets that shaped them all.
Rumours are already flying that the docuseries will include appearances from Slash, Dave Grohl, Alice Cooper, and even Stevenโs daughters Liv and Mia Tyler โ each offering new perspectives on his rollercoaster life both on and off stage.
๐ถ๏ธ The Hidden Secrets of a Rock Legend
According to Netflix insiders, the tagline โSecret Hidden for 50 Yearsโ isnโt just clickbait โ the series will reveal personal truths and career moments that Tyler himself has never publicly addressed. From early musical inspirations and untold feuds to family struggles and spiritual awakenings, this looks set to be the definitive look at one of the greatest showmen in rock history.
Expect emotional depth, raw confessions, and Tylerโs trademark charisma in every frame.
๐ฌ When Can Fans Expect It?
While Netflix hasnโt locked down a release date yet, production is rumoured to be already underway, with shooting taking place in Los Angeles, Boston, and Nashville. Insiders suggest we could see the first trailer drop by mid-2026, with the full series landing later that year.
Given Tylerโs legacy and Netflixโs recent success with music biopics, this could easily become one of their biggest-ever rock docuseries.
๐ค A Legacy Like No Other
From his outrageous stage clothes to his signature scream, Steven Tyler remains one of rockโs most enduring icons. His influence can be heard across generations โ from classic hard rock to grunge to modern alt-metal โ and this new series will remind everyone why heโs still one of the best to ever do it.
So polish those scarves, blast Walk This Way, and get ready for 16 episodes of pure, unfiltered rock โnโ roll history.
