That’s how long it’s been since Belgian razorgrind maniacs Leng Tch’e last unleashed new material into the world.
Now the silence is officially over.
The Ghent extreme-metal veterans have returned with “Hammered Into Collapse,” their first new song since 2017’s Razorgrind — and if anyone was worried the intervening years might have mellowed them out, you can safely put that concern straight in the bin.
The track arrived on 24 September 2026 via Season of Mist, accompanied by an official music video, and serves as the opening blast from a forthcoming two-song digital EP of the same name.
Hammered Into Collapse arrives on 23 October 2026 and pairs the title track with another brand-new slab of punishment entitled “Voided.” (Season of Mist)

🔨 ‘Hammered Into Collapse’ Breaks The Silence
When you’ve been away for almost a decade, you could probably be forgiven for gently easing yourself back into proceedings.
Leng Tch’e apparently didn’t receive that memo.
“Hammered Into Collapse” is a compact, vicious return from a band that has spent more than two decades smashing grindcore, death metal, metalcore and stoner-rock weight together under its self-described “razorgrind” banner. (Season of Mist)
The new track lasts barely more than two minutes.
Which, to be fair, is plenty of time when you’re attempting to cave somebody’s skull in musically.
It’s ugly.
It’s oppressive.
It’s frantic.
And it’s unmistakably Leng Tch’e.

🧠 Twenty Years Of Denial Come Crashing Down
There’s considerably more going on underneath the violence, though.
The concept behind “Hammered Into Collapse” revolves around the image of a parasite feeding on its host for twenty years without ever becoming satisfied.
That becomes a metaphor for wasted time and prolonged denial — years spent avoiding an inevitable reckoning until everything finally comes crashing down.
Rather than writing some straightforward gore-soaked grindcore nonsense, Leng Tch’e have turned their comeback into something psychologically claustrophobic.
It’s the sound of realisation arriving far too late.

💀 Nine Years Since Razorgrind
The significance of this release becomes considerably clearer when you look backwards.
Leng Tch’e’s last studio album, Razorgrind, arrived in 2017.
Since then, the band have continued appearing live across Europe and the UK, but genuinely new recorded material has remained absent. (Season of Mist)
Until now.
“Hammered Into Collapse” isn’t a remaster.
It isn’t an old demo somebody discovered behind a filing cabinet.
It isn’t a live recording being repackaged.
This is new Leng Tch’e.
And after almost nine years, that’s one hell of a welcome development for grindcore fans.
🔪 What The Hell Is Razorgrind?
Leng Tch’e have always had their own description for the musical violence they create:
Razorgrind.
It’s essentially the point where grindcore’s speed and chaos collide with the brutality of death metal, the physical impact of metalcore and the thicker grooves associated with stoner metal.
Basically, imagine putting several different branches of extreme metal into an industrial blender and then forgetting to put the lid on.
That’s roughly where we’re operating.
The band’s refusal to sit comfortably inside a single extreme-metal pigeonhole has been central to their identity since the early days.
And Hammered Into Collapse suggests they haven’t suddenly developed an interest in behaving themselves.
🇧🇪 More Than Two Decades Of Belgian Extremity
Leng Tch’e formed in Ghent, Belgium, in 2001, eventually building an international reputation through a run of increasingly ferocious releases.
Albums including Death By A Thousand Cuts, ManMadePredator, The Process Of Elimination and Marasmus helped establish the band’s place within the European extreme-metal underground. (Season of Mist)
The group underwent substantial line-up changes along the way, including the departure of drummer Sven de Caluwé in 2007, which left Leng Tch’e without any of its original members. (Season of Mist)
Yet the band survived.
Then came Razorgrind in 2017.
Then came the silence.
And now the machine has started moving again.

The current Leng Tch’e line-up features:
- Serge Kasongo – Vocals
- Jan Hallaert – Guitar
- Nicolas Malfeyt – Bass / Backing Vocals
- Olivier Coppens – Drums
It’s this four-piece responsible for finally dragging Leng Tch’e back into the studio and breaking that near-decade recording drought. (Season of Mist)

They haven’t forgotten how to make an absolutely horrible racket.
We mean that as the highest possible compliment.
🎚️ Behind ‘Hammered Into Collapse’
The new material was recorded at Hearse Studio with engineer Lander Cluyse.
Mixing duties were handled by Taylor Young at The Pit Recording Studio, while Brad Boatright mastered the material at Audiosiege. (Season of Mist)
That’s some serious heavy-music pedigree behind the desk.
Young’s credits include work involving God’s Hate, Full Of Hell and Vitriol, while Boatright’s Audiosiege has become a familiar name throughout punk, hardcore and extreme-metal circles. (Season of Mist)
For Leng Tch’e, that production team makes perfect sense.
This isn’t music requiring the rough edges to be politely sanded away.
You want the edges.
Preferably sharpened.
🔥 Two Songs. Seven Minutes. No Filler.
The forthcoming Hammered Into Collapse EP isn’t exactly what you’d describe as an epic.
Two songs.
Approximately seven minutes.
Done.
But that’s entirely appropriate.
Grindcore isn’t exactly famous for wasting everybody’s afternoon with seventeen-minute keyboard solos.
The EP consists of:

And while the title track focuses its collapse inward, “Voided” reportedly expands the destruction outwards, moving from personal mental disintegration towards something considerably more apocalyptic. (Season of Mist)
So that’s nice and cheerful.
🌑 ‘Voided’ Takes The Collapse Even Further
If “Hammered Into Collapse” is claustrophobic and internal, “Voided” appears ready to blow the doors off entirely.
Season of Mist describes the second track as pushing that same theme beyond the individual and towards an apocalyptic scale — insanity expanding until everything disappears into the void. (Season of Mist)
That makes the two-song structure considerably more interesting than it initially appears.
This isn’t simply one single with a random leftover track attached.
There’s a progression.
Collapse begins internally.
Then everything else goes with it.
Efficient.
Bleak.

Nine years is a dangerously long time in heavy music.
Bands form.
Bands split.
Genres mutate.
People grow beards.
People lose beards.
Somebody invents another 74 subgenres of metalcore.
And eventually you start wondering whether you’re ever going to hear from certain bands again.
Then Leng Tch’e kick the door off its hinges.
“Hammered Into Collapse” doesn’t sound like a band politely asking whether there’s still room for them.
It’s two minutes of concentrated hostility announcing:
We’re bloody back.
And perhaps the best thing about this return is how compact the whole operation is.
No bloated comeback album.
No enormous concept record accompanied by a 90-page manifesto.
Just two songs and roughly seven minutes of Belgian razorgrind violence.
Job done.
The title track turns twenty years of denial into a psychological car crash, while “Voided” promises to take that destruction and blow it up to apocalyptic proportions.
That’s quite a lot of existential misery to cram into seven minutes.
But Leng Tch’e have always been efficient.
Razorgrind disappeared into the rear-view mirror back in 2017.
Now the silence has finally broken.
Leng Tch’e are back.
The razor is sharpened.
