Rhythm gaming met full-blown rock โnโ roll energy at IGN Live as Stage Tour threw open the doors for its first-ever public hands-on event โ and judging by the reaction, plenty of players were ready to get their virtual band back together.
There are certain combinations that just make sense.

Now Stage Tour is looking to bring some fresh energy to the rhythm-game world โ and the team recently took a major step by appearing at IGN Live for its first public hands-on event.
And by the sounds of it, mun, they had one hell of a weekend.

Stage Tour shared a message following the event celebrating its IGN Live appearance and thanking the players, rhythm-game fans and creators who stopped by.
The team said:

They added that it had been a pleasure meeting so many rhythm-game fans, players and creators, thanking everyone who stopped by and โrocked with usโ.
For a game aimed directly at people who still get misty-eyed whenever somebody mentions the glory days of rhythm gaming, getting the public actually playing it represents a pretty important milestone.
Screenshots and trailers are one thing.
Getting your hands on the thing and discovering whether it actually makes you want to throw devil horns at the television?

๐ฎ RHYTHM GAMING STILL HAS A MASSIVE FOLLOWING
Anyone who lived through the explosion of music games during the 2000s will remember just how enormous the genre became.
For a glorious period, living rooms everywhere were filled with plastic guitars, drum kits, microphones and somebody yelling:
โDONโT DISTRACT ME, IโM ON A STREAK!โ
Games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band didnโt simply become successful video games โ they became genuine gateways into rock and metal.

Developers get to see people interacting with the experience naturally rather than through controlled demonstrations.
Which bits make players smile?
Where do people struggle?
What gets spectators watching?
And perhaps most importantly for something built around music:
Does it actually feel fun to play?
Stage Tour describing the weekend so positively suggests its first major public outing provided plenty of useful feedback โ and potentially a few new converts along the way.
