Winter’s End is heading back to Wales – and the 2027 edition is shaping up to be an absolute belter. 🤘🐉

Planet Rock’s winter rock ’n’ roll pilgrimage returns to Trecco Bay Holiday Park in Porthcawl, South Wales, from Thursday 28th to Sunday 31st January 2027, celebrating 10 years since the very first Winter’s End.

And this isn’t some gentle January weekend involving slippers, hot chocolate and pretending you’re doing Dry January.

Ohhhh no.

We’re talking four days of riffs, caravans, pints, questionable sleep patterns and enough rock music to shake Porthcawl seafront. 🍺🔥

With Bywater Call, Stone Broken and The Answer confirmed as headliners alongside a cracking collection of established names and rising talent – including our Welsh favourites Scarlet Rebels – here’s everything you need to know about Planet Rock’s Winter’s End 2027.

📍 When & Where Is Winter’s End 2027?

📅 Thursday 28th – Sunday 31st January 2027

📍 Trecco Bay Holiday Park
Porthcawl
South Wales
CF36 5PW

🔞 Strictly 18+

Winter’s End has become one of the finest ways of dealing with those miserable post-Christmas blues.

Forget staring out of the window wondering why it’s dark at half four.

Stick a leather jacket on, get yourself to Porthcawl and listen to some bloody guitars. 🤘

🔥 Winter’s End 2027 Line-Up

Twenty bands have now been announced for the 10th anniversary event, with more artists still to come.

⭐ HEADLINERS

Friday – BYWATER CALL 🇨🇦

Canadian roots-rock powerhouse Bywater Call will headline Friday night, making their first-ever Winter’s End appearance.

After absolutely smashing Planet Rockstock, the seven-piece are perfectly suited to the Winter’s End crowd – enormous vocals, bluesy guitars, soul and enough swagger to warm up even a freezing January night in Porthcawl.

Saturday – STONE BROKEN 🔥

Now THIS is a tasty one.

Stone Broken will headline Saturday night with an exclusive one-off performance.

Even better, there’s a lovely bit of history behind it.

Stone Broken appeared at the original Winter’s End back in 2017, meaning they’re returning a decade later to headline the festival’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

That, butt, is how you bring things full circle.

Sunday – THE ANSWER ⚡

Northern Ireland’s magnificent The Answer will close Winter’s End on Sunday night with another exclusive one-off performance.

And just like Stone Broken, there’s history here.

The Answer performed at the inaugural Winter’s End in 2017, so bringing them back for the anniversary feels absolutely spot on.

Expect riffs.

Expect swagger.

Expect Monday morning to hurt.

🐉 SCARLET REBELS ARE FLYING THE FLAG FOR WALES!

Now we’re talking.

Welsh melodic rock heroes Scarlet Rebels have landed the Thursday night special guest slot.

And you know us at The Riff Report.

If there’s a Welsh band on the bill, we’re shouting about them. 🐉🤘

The Rebels have become one of the strongest names to emerge from the modern Welsh rock scene, and getting them onto that Winter’s End stage in Porthcawl should make for one hell of a home-country reception.

CYMRU AM BYTH, MUN!

🎤 Winter’s End 2027 – Line-Up So Far

The first 20 confirmed acts are:

  • ⭐ Bywater Call – Friday Headliner
  • ⭐ Stone Broken – Saturday Headliner
  • ⭐ The Answer – Sunday Headliner
  • 🐉 Scarlet Rebels
  • Phil Campbell’s Bastard Sons
  • Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse
  • Dan Byrne
  • Departed
  • Caitlin Krisko & The Broadcast
  • The Autumn Killers
  • LN
  • Ward XVI
  • Black Orchid Empire
  • The Dust Coda
  • Winter in Eden
  • Dead Writers
  • Sisters Doll
  • Black Dog Moon
  • SKAM
  • Wood Burnt Red

And we’re not finished yet.

Planet Rock says further bands will be announced in the coming months.

That already looks like a cracking weekend. 🔥

🎟️ Winter’s End 2027 Tickets

Both accommodation packages and non-accommodation weekend tickets are currently available.

And demand has already been pretty chunky.

🥇 Gold Accommodation – SOLD OUT ❌

Gold accommodation has already completely sold out.

These packages featured newer or refurbished accommodation and included an event T-shirt for everyone included in the booking.

Gone.

Finished.

Departed faster than a pint left unattended in a festival campsite.

🥈 Silver Accommodation

Silver packages feature newer or refurbished units but do not include the event T-shirt.

At the time of writing, some larger three-bedroom Silver accommodation options remain available, although several of the smaller units have already sold out.

🥉 Bronze Accommodation

Bronze accommodation uses older units and can be booked as either a three-day or four-day package, depending on the option selected.

As an example, Planet Rock lists a three-bedroom Bronze unit for three people at:

Three nights – £640 face value

That works out at roughly:

£213 per person

Or for four nights:

£760 face value

Around:

£253 per person

Importantly, your accommodation package also includes your entry to Winter’s End.

So you’re sorting your bed and your rock ’n’ roll in one hit.

Tidy. 🤘

🎫 Weekend-Only Tickets

Don’t fancy staying at Trecco Bay?

You can still join the madness.

Current face-value weekend options include:

Four-Day Gold Weekend Ticket

🎟️ £200 face value

📅 Thursday – Sunday

👕 Includes an event T-shirt.

Three-Day Weekend Ticket

🎟️ £160 face value

📅 Friday – Sunday

Booking fees may apply on top of the face-value prices.

Ticket availability can change quickly, so check the ticketing page for the latest options before booking.

💳 Is There A Winter’s End Payment Plan?

YES!

Payment-plan options are available, allowing you to spread the cost rather than making your bank account scream all at once.

At the time of writing, the official ticketing system offers instalment options across a range of accommodation and weekend packages.

Very handy when Christmas has just mugged your wallet. 😂

🏠 What’s Included In The Accommodation?

Accommodation includes bedding and generally features:

🛏️ Bedrooms
🚿 Bathroom
☕ Kettle
🍳 Oven
🧊 Fridge
🍽️ Plates, cups and kitchen utensils

However:

Towels are NOT provided.

Do not forget them.

Nobody wants to discover this after stumbling back to the caravan following several hours of riffs and ale.

♿ Accessibility At Winter’s End

Adapted accommodation is available for wheelchair users across the different accommodation levels, subject to availability.

Booking adapted accommodation also provides access to the raised viewing platform inside the Showdome.

Those buying non-accommodation tickets who require accessibility arrangements should contact the organisers ahead of the festival.

One particularly important point:

Motorised scooters are not permitted inside the Showdome, and users will need to transfer to a wheelchair.

Accessible accommodation can sell out, so we’d strongly recommend getting arrangements sorted early.

🪑 Can You Sit Down At Winter’s End?

Winter’s End is primarily a standing event.

If you have a medical condition requiring seating, you should contact the organisers in advance. Only a limited number of suitable seats are available.

There are also around 50 picnic-table seats in the main room.

These don’t provide a view of the stage, but you’ll still be able to hear the bands.

There are also approximately 30-minute changeovers between bands, giving everyone a chance to rest the old knees.

Because apparently we’re not 21 anymore.

When did that happen?! 😭😂

🐶 Can I Bring My Dog?

Potentially – but only to suitable accommodation.

You’ll need to contact the organisers to request pet-friendly accommodation, and availability isn’t guaranteed.

Dogs cannot enter the music venues.

So unfortunately Fido isn’t getting into the pit for The Answer.

Even if he’s wearing a battle jacket.

🚗 Is Parking Available?

Yep.

Parking is either beside your accommodation where space permits – generally one vehicle – or within Trecco Bay’s main car park.

The main car park is free of charge.

Anyone attending on a weekend-only or future day ticket without accommodation should use the main car park.

🚐 Can I Bring A Campervan?

Unfortunately not.

There are no campervan pitches available at Trecco Bay for Winter’s End.

Caravan accommodation?

Yes.

Your own campervan?

Nope.

🍔 Food & Drink

Nobody needs to survive an entire rock weekend on crisps stolen from the caravan cupboard.

Trecco Bay has numerous food options available around the holiday park, including restaurants, takeaway-style food and familiar chains.

There are also bars within the festival venues and the Trooper Lounge. 🍺

You can bring and consume your own food and drink inside your accommodation, but you cannot take it into the festival venues.

Nice try though. 😂

📸 Can I Take A Camera?

Phones and small compact cameras are permitted.

However, professional DSLR and mirrorless cameras aren’t permitted inside the venues without appropriate authorisation/accreditation.

So phone photography?

Crack on.

Turning up with a 70-200mm lens looking like you’re about to photograph Iron Maiden at Wembley?

Probably not getting through, butt. 😂📸

🎶 What Else Happens During Winter’s End?

It isn’t simply bands on stage followed by everybody disappearing back to their caravans.

Music will continue in the sports bar from Thursday through Sunday until late, keeping the party going after the main action.

And there’s also the traditional:

🧠 Sunday Morning Quiz

Which is an excellent opportunity to discover just how much completely useless rock trivia you’ve retained while simultaneously forgetting where you left your room key.

🔊 Is Winter’s End Loud?

It’s called Planet Rock, mun.

Of course it’s loud. 😂🤘

Hearing protection is strongly recommended, and the organisers also warn that strobe lighting may be used during performances.

Look after those ears.

You’ll need them for the next festival.

🎫 Are Day Tickets Available?

Not yet.

Planet Rock says day tickets will go on sale at a later date.

So if you’re waiting to see the complete running order before choosing a particular day, keep those eyes peeled.

🤘 Why Winter’s End Is Such A Cracking Festival

Winter’s End has quietly become one of the gems of the UK rock calendar.

Since launching in Dorset in 2017, its stages have welcomed names including:

Those Damn Crows, Massive Wagons, The Temperance Movement, Bernie Marsden, Adrian Smith & Richie Kotzen, The Quireboys, Elles Bailey, Sophie Lloyd, Kris Barras Band and Stone Broken.

But there’s something particularly special about the event now being held down here in South Wales.

There’s no muddy campsite.

No tent trying to escape during a storm.

No waking up at 5am wondering whether you’ve developed hypothermia.

You’ve got a caravan.

You’ve got a shower.

You’ve got a kitchen.

You’ve got somewhere to make a cuppa.

And a few minutes away you’ve got a building full of rock fans losing their minds to some brilliant bands.

Festival life with central heating.

We may have finally cracked it. 😂🔥

🐉 The Riff Report Verdict

Winter’s End 2027 already looks like one of the strongest editions yet.

Bywater Call on Friday.

Stone Broken returning for an exclusive Saturday headline show.

The Answer closing proceedings on Sunday.

Scarlet Rebels representing Wales on Thursday.

Then throw in Phil Campbell’s Bastard Sons, Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse, Dan Byrne, LN, Ward XVI, The Dust Coda, Caitlin Krisko & The Broadcast and plenty more, with additional announcements still to come.

Yeah.

January suddenly doesn’t look so miserable after all.

We’ll see you in Porthcawl, butt.

Bring your battle jacket.

Bring your earplugs.

Bring a towel.

And for the love of Lemmy…

remember which bloody caravan you’re staying in. 😂🤘🍺🐉
