Dark mythology, female rebellion and enough brooding atmosphere to fill a moonless sky — ARTEMISIA have returned with their new album, Frammenti d’Anedonia, released through Volcano Records & Promotion.

The record places female experiences firmly at its heart, weaving together figures drawn from mythology, history, art and personal life. Each story is connected by recurring themes of pain, resistance, transformation and the fight for freedom.

This isn’t background music for folding the washing, butt. This is a record built to be explored.

🌑 ‘Luna Nera’ Brings the Legend of Lilith into the Present

Arriving alongside the album is the official video for ‘Luna Nera’, the third single taken from Frammenti d’Anedonia.

The track reimagines Lilith as a rebellious, untameable figure — an archetype of independence who refuses to accept the roles imposed upon her. Rather than treating the character as a distant mythological curiosity, ARTEMISIA use her story to confront ideas that remain painfully relevant today.

‘Luna Nera’ stands as one of the clearest representations of the album’s wider concept: using myths, symbols and powerful female figures to speak about the modern world.

Dark, dramatic and defiantly free, the song carries the kind of energy that doesn’t politely knock before entering. It kicks the door clean off its hinges. 🔥

🎨 From Frida Kahlo to Marina Abramović

Fragmenti d’Anedonia — pardon, Frammenti d’Anedonia — travels through an ambitious collection of characters, artworks and experiences.

‘Ciò che l’acqua mi ha dato’ takes inspiration from the life and work of Frida Kahlo, an artist whose paintings turned pain, identity and physical suffering into unforgettable visual statements.

Meanwhile, ‘Rivelazione’ draws upon Marina Abramović’s Rhythm 0, the notorious performance piece that explored vulnerability, human behaviour and what can happen when responsibility appears to disappear.

The album also ventures into Italian folklore through the mysterious figure of the Accabadora, while ‘Pensiero divergente’ explores neurodivergence and the experience of seeing and processing the world differently.

Then there is ‘Veleno’, which moves into a ritualistic and transformative space, strengthening the record’s sense of crossing boundaries between reality, symbolism and personal rebirth.

It’s an album with plenty rattling around inside its skull, mun — art, mythology, identity, resistance and the refusal to remain silent.

🖤 Two Decades of Darkness and Storytelling

Active since 2006, ARTEMISIA have spent two decades developing a distinctive identity shaped by shadowy atmospheres, literary imagery and deeply narrative songwriting.

Fragmenti d’Anedonia builds upon that foundation while pushing the band’s storytelling further. Its central figures may come from different centuries, cultures and artistic worlds, but their experiences are bound together through struggle, resilience and transformation.

The result is a record that treats mythology and history as living things rather than dusty museum exhibits. These stories still have teeth, and ARTEMISIA are more than happy to let them bite.

🤘 A Rebellious New Chapter for ARTEMISIA

With Frammenti d’Anedonia, ARTEMISIA have created a dark and ambitious collection that celebrates female strength without ignoring the pain, isolation and resistance that often accompany it.

The accompanying ‘Luna Nera’ video places that message beneath a black moon, presenting Lilith as a symbol of freedom, independence and the courage to reject society’s expectations.

Powerful themes, striking imagery and music wrapped in glorious darkness — this is ARTEMISIA entering their latest chapter with claws out and absolutely no intention of being tamed. 🌑🔥🤘

Frammenti d’Anedonia is out now through Volcano Records & Promotion, with the official video for ‘Luna Nera’ available to watch now.

Proudly Welsh. Proudly Loud. Zero Apologies. 🐉🤘
