Welcome to The Riff Report’s Ultimate Guide to Plumpton Revival Festival 2026 – your one-stop survival guide to one of Britain’s most unique rock, blues and roots festivals.

Forget massive corporate festivals with mile-long queues and endless concrete. Plumpton Revival is all about incredible live music, classic festival vibes, friendly faces and a stunning countryside setting with a huge slice of British rock history thrown in for good measure.

If you’re heading to Sussex this summer, here’s everything you need to know.

📍 Where Is Plumpton Revival?

📍 Plumpton Racecourse
Lewes
East Sussex
BN7 3AL

Set amongst the beautiful South Downs National Park, the racecourse has been hosting live music for decades.

Many rock fans don’t realise this is the very same venue that welcomed legends including:

  • 🎸 Pink Floyd
  • 🎤 The Who
  • ⚡ Free
  • 🔥 Led Zeppelin
  • 🤘 Yes
  • 🎶 Jethro Tull
  • 🎵 Rory Gallagher
  • 🥁 The Nice

during the famous National Jazz, Blues & Pop Festivals of 1969 and 1970.

Today’s Plumpton Revival proudly celebrates that incredible musical heritage while creating new memories for a whole new generation of festival-goers.

📅 Festival Dates

Friday 24 July 2026

Always follow the official parking signs and allow extra time during busy arrival periods.

🚆 Getting There

One of the best things about Plumpton Revival is how accessible it is.

🚆 By Train

Plumpton Railway Station sits just a short walk from the festival entrance.

No complicated shuttle buses required.

🚗 By Car

Easy access from:

  • Brighton
  • Lewes
  • Eastbourne
  • London
  • Gatwick

🎪 More Than Just Music

The festival offers plenty away from the stages.

Expect:

  • Vintage displays
  • Classic vehicles
  • Independent traders
  • Artisan stalls
  • Local food producers
  • Family entertainment
  • Relaxed seating areas

It’s the sort of place where you can happily wander for hours between bands.

🎵 What Makes Plumpton Revival Different?

Plumpton Revival isn’t trying to be Download.

It isn’t trying to be Glastonbury.

Instead, it celebrates something increasingly rare…

A genuinely relaxed festival where music comes first.

You’ll find no crushing crowds, no endless queues, and no need to sprint between stages. Instead, you’ll discover a welcoming community of music lovers enjoying everything from blues and classic rock to prog, folk and roots in one of the UK’s most historic festival locations.

For fans who love legendary musicians, rising talent and a laid-back atmosphere, it’s an absolute gem.

🎒 Riff Report Festival Survival Tips

✅ Bring sun cream (and waterproofs—this is Britain, after all!)

✅ Wear comfortable footwear.

✅ Bring a reusable water bottle.

✅ Pack a power bank for your phone.

✅ Take cash as a backup for traders.

✅ Explore both stages—you’ll almost certainly discover your next favourite band.

✅ Take time to soak up the history of the site.

🎤 Final Thoughts

Plumpton Revival might not boast the biggest stages or the loudest headlines, but that’s exactly its charm. This is a festival built on heritage, musicianship and a genuine love of live music.

Whether you’re there to relive the spirit of the legendary Plumpton festivals of the late ‘60s, catch iconic acts, or simply spend a glorious summer weekend surrounded by fellow music fans, you’re in for a proper treat.

So pack the tent, grab your favourite band tee, and get ready for a weekend of timeless tunes, cracking company and unforgettable moments in the Sussex countryside.

We’ll see you down the front, butt! 🤘🍻

Michael

Michael

🎸 About Michael Michael is the founder, editor and chief riff wrangler of The Riff Report, an independent Welsh rock, metal and alternative music publication built by fans, for fans. A lifelong rock and metal fan, Michael has spent years immersed in the music, culture and community that surround the heavier side of life. From discovering new bands and digging through classic albums to standing in muddy festival fields, squeezing into packed venues and spending far too much time near the front of a stage, music has always been much more than background noise — it is a massive part of who he is. That passion eventually became The Riff Report, a publication created to celebrate the bands, artists, venues, festivals, photographers, promoters and fans who keep the rock and metal world turning. Michael spends much of the year covering gigs, festivals, tours, album releases, new singles, interviews and music news, with a camera never too far away and a press pass usually hanging somewhere around his neck. Whether it is a huge arena show, a major outdoor festival or a tiny grassroots venue packed with people discovering their new favourite band, he believes every part of the scene has stories worth telling. For Michael, one of the biggest joys of music journalism is being able to shine a light on artists at every level. The Riff Report is just as interested in the hungry independent band playing to 50 people as it is in the global act headlining to 50,000. Supporting unsigned, independent and grassroots musicians is a huge part of the publication’s identity, because every legendary band started somewhere. Sometimes the next big thing is not on a massive billboard or a major-label playlist — sometimes they are crammed onto a tiny stage in a pub, plugging in their own gear and hoping somebody in the room remembers their name. Michael wants The Riff Report to be one of the places that remembers.
