1. Ozzy Osbourne – Dec 3, 1948
The Prince of Fking Darkness himself**! 🤘
The godfather of metal, the bat-biting Brummie, and Sabbath’s original madman. Born in Aston, Birmingham, Ozzy’s voice changed the course of music history. From Sabbath’s doom-laden slabs to solo antics with Randy Rhoads, he’s the December deity of darkness.
“All aboard the crazy train… to Christmas town!” 🚂🎅
2. Keith Richards (The Rolling Stones) – Dec 18, 1943
Still somehow alive and flipping off the Grim Reaper on a daily basis. 🖕💀
Keef is the human embodiment of rock ‘n’ roll chaos. If Christmas had a spirit animal, it wouldn’t be a reindeer—it’d be this wrinkled riff-slinger smoking a cig under mistletoe.
3. Corey Taylor (Slipknot / Stone Sour) – Dec 8, 1973
He’s Santa… if Santa wore a mask and screamed in 9/8 time. 🎅😈
Corey’s voice flips between demonic roars and beautiful melody like it’s nothing. Born on the feast day of brutality, he leads Slipknot like a metal Messiah and still finds time to pen ballads. Tidy!
4. Jim Morrison (The Doors) – Dec 8, 1943
The Lizard King slithered into December like a poetic pagan. 🐍📖
While not full metal, his impact on the darker, psychedelic edge of rock is undeniable. Mystical, moody, and magnetically mad. Imagine him ghosting your Christmas party with a candle and some absinthe.
5. Rick Savage (Def Leppard) – Dec 2, 1960
Sav, the steady heartbeat of Def Leppard’s arena-shaking sound. 🎸🎄
That Sheffield groove helped bring “Pour Some Sugar On Me” to life—exactly what you need on your Christmas pudding, innit?
6. Randy Rhoads (Ozzy Osbourne) – Dec 6, 1956
The classical metal guitar genius who redefined the solo. 🎼🔥
Randy’s work on Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman is like Bach on steroids with leather pants. His life was tragically short, but his legacy is eternal—especially during the season of angels. 👼
7. Ian Stewart (Rolling Stones co-founder) – Dec 18, 1938
The “sixth Stone” who never got the fame but all the musical credit. 🎹🎶
Kicked out of the band for being “too square” looking (rude), but still played piano on all the big records. An underrated December gent.
8. Frank Zappa – Dec 21, 1940
The high priest of prog-weirdness and moustache magic. 🧠🎸
Zappa’s music is like if Christmas dinner were made entirely of LSD and time signatures. Genius. Bizarre. A festive gift to music nerds everywhere. 🤓
9. J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.) – Dec 10, 1965
The fuzz lord of slacker rock. 🐢🎸
Mascis made being a grumpy guitar god an artform. His solos are as unpredictable as your nan after two sherries.
10. Phil Collen (Def Leppard) – Dec 8, 1957
No shirt, all shred. 💪🎅
The other half of Def Leppard’s twin-guitar juggernaut. Collen brings the glam to Christmas—expect abs, glitter, and solos under the tree. 🎁
11. Leslie West (Mountain) – Dec 22, 1945
“Mississippi Queen” ring any bells, butt? 🔔🎸
Leslie had one of the chunkiest guitar tones ever. That riff is basically a sleigh bell if the sleigh was on fire and driven by a yeti.
12. Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) – Dec 23, 1964
Brooding frontman vibes for your winter solstice. 🌒🎤
His voice sounds like Christmas trees sighing in the rain—haunting, powerful, a bit mysterious. Chuck on Black and let the snow fall.
13. Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead) – Dec 24, 1945
YES MUN, THE CHRISTMAS KING! 👑🔥
Born on Christmas bloody Eve. Lemmy IS the ghost of Christmas badass. If Santa had a bass and a bottle of Jack, this would be him. Rest in noise, legend. 🎅🥃🎸
14. Tré Cool (Green Day) – Dec 9, 1972
The most chaotic elf in punk rock’s North Pole. 🥁🎁
Tré brings firecracker energy, insane fills, and the wild-eyed chaos we all love. If your Christmas tree suddenly caught fire, it’s probably his fault.
15. Chris Poland (Megadeth) – Dec 1, 1957
Thrash meets jazz-fusion wizardry. 🔥🎶
Played on the early, raw, insane Megadeth albums (Killing Is My Business…, Peace Sells…) and brought a unique melodic madness to Mustaine’s wrath.
16. Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) – Dec 30, 1964
The man who made guitars talk, scream, and beep like UFOs. 🛸🎸
His riffs literally fight capitalism. And yes, Killing in the Name belongs on your Christmas playlist. “F**k you I won’t eat your mince pies!” 😤🥧
