Brace yourselves, Download faithful — the festival has done it again. Just when you thought nothing could top the madness of past curveball acts (Chase & Status, Pendulum, and that time Busta Rhymes nearly melted the fields), Download Festival 2026 has officially announced SCOOTER as the annual “wait… WHAT?!” booking — and the German rave overlords are HEADLINING The Avalanche Stage, butt! 🤘💥
Yes, you read that right. H.P. Baxxter — the bleach-blonde, shouty techno wizard himself — is coming to Donington to scream “HYPER! HYPER!” at a tent full of metalheads who are 50% confused, 50% buzzing, and 100% ready to absolutely lose their minds. Proper job. 😅
🤘 WHOEVER BOOKED THIS… DIOLCH, YOU ABSOLUTE MANIAC.
Scooter are one of Europe’s most chaotic live forces — strobe lights, pyro that looks like it was ordered off Wish by Rammstein, dancers, lasers, and H.P. yelling mystical nonsense like a wizard who’s had six Red Bulls. Tidy.
And now they’re doing all that in a tent at Download.
GOOD LUCK, AVALANCHE STAGE. May the gods of structural integrity protect you.
🔥 WHY SCOOTER AT DOWNLOAD ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE (NO, REALLY)
- Metalheads secretly love rave bangers
- Scooter’s live shows go harder than most djent bands
- Every European festival ends in a Scooter rave — now Download gets one too
- The fields of Donington deserve a bit of eurodance chaos, mun
- H.P. Baxxter is basically a frontman from a power metal band anyway
🎪 THE AVALANCHE STAGE IS ABOUT TO BECOME A RAVE PIT
Expect:
- Circle pits to “Maria (I Like It Loud)”
- Walls of death timed with big EDM drops
- Confused dads spilling their cider
- Your mate Dai screaming “THIS IS MY CHILDHOOD, MUN!”
- A tent so sweaty it’ll feel like a sauna built by IKEA
It’s going to be lush. Horrifying. Magical. Chaotic.
Download’s own Eurotrash apocalypse, and we’re HERE for it.
🤯 DOWNLOAD FANS ARE ALREADY LOSING THE PLOT
Socials are doing backflips. Metal purists are tamping. Everyone else is planning their neon rave outfits for Saturday night. Only in Wales, mun… oh wait, this one’s in Donington, but you get it. 😆
💬 QUOTE WE IMAGINE H.P. BAXXTER WILL SHOUT AT DONINGTON
“DOWNLOAD! ARE YOU READY FOR THE SCOOTER RAVE ATTACK?!”
Yes H.P.
We are.
C’mon butt! 💥
🧨 THE VERDICT — A CURVEBALL WORTH CELEBRATING
Download Festival 2026 just levelled up the chaos. This is going to be one of those sets — the ones people talk about for YEARS. Circuitboards will melt. Knees will give out. The Avalanche Stage will sweat through its fabric.
And when H.P. screams “HYPER! HYPER!”, 20,000 metalheads will answer like it’s a battle cry.
See you in the rave pit, mun. 🏴🔥🤘
