Iron Maiden are turning EddFest at Knebworth into something even bigger than anyone expected โ because the legendary metal titans are now set to complete filming for their forthcoming concert film at the historic UK show.
Yes, butt. The hallowed grounds of Knebworth are about to become part of Iron Maiden history.
The band confirmed that footage from their massive EddFest show on Saturday 11th July 2026 will be used to finish the upcoming Run For Your Lives concert film, following the dramatic disruption at their Paris show in June. The official Iron Maiden announcement says the band โquickly decidedโ to complete the film at Knebworth after the Paris power cut, with Steve Harris stating: โYou all know what happened in Paris, we all know what happened in Paris, so weโre gonna finish it off at Knebworth.โ
Paris Went Darkโฆ So Maiden Went Bigger โก
The original plan had been to capture the concert film around Iron Maidenโs show at Paris La Dรฉfense Arena on 22nd June 2026, in front of more than 30,000 fans. But then, in true rock โnโ roll disaster movie fashion, a major power cut hit during the show and forced the band to pause mid-set. Reports say the outage happened during โTwo Minutes To Midnightโ, which is so ridiculously dramatic it sounds like Eddie himself tripped over the extension lead backstage.
Once the power came back, Maiden carried on like the absolute professionals they are, but the venue curfew meant the band had to cut the encore. That meant no โAces High,โ โFear Of The Darkโ or โWasted Yearsโ on the night โ three songs that are not exactly tiny little extras, are they? Those are full-blown Maiden warhorses.
But instead of letting that missing footage hang over the film like a damp tent at Download, Maiden have done the most Maiden thing possible:
They are finishing the job at Knebworth.

EddFest Just Became Even More Legendary ๐ช๐ฅ
EddFest was already shaping up to be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of all things Iron Maiden. It marks the bandโs 50th anniversary, and it is being staged at Knebworth Park โ one of the most iconic live music locations in the UK. Iron Maiden previously announced EddFest as a full Maiden-themed world, created around their only UK show of 2026.
We are talking Maidenville, themed bars, live music, museum pieces, games, merch, and the kind of atmosphere where every other person is wearing a battle jacket that looks like it survived three wars, a pub crawl, and at least one muddy festival field.

You have got The Darkness bringing the glam-rock swagger, The Hu rolling in with thunderous Mongolian folk-metal power, Airbourne ready to make everything smell like beer and broken neck muscles, and The Almighty adding proper old-school grit to the party.
Then Iron Maiden walk out and flatten the place.

Friday Night Brings Maiden History Too ๐ค
The Friday side of EddFest is also loaded with Maiden connections, including Blaze Bayley, who is set to headline the Friday night at EddFest. Iron Maiden confirmed Blazeโs involvement back in March, with the former Maiden frontman joining the wider celebration at Knebworth.
That gives the whole weekend a proper family reunion feel โ except instead of awkward small talk and sandwiches, you get leather jackets, galloping basslines, and thousands of fans losing their minds in a field.
