Well, thatโs a proper bummer, butt. ๐ British prog-metal maestros HAKEN have announced they wonโt be joining Coheed and Cambria on their upcoming UK dates โ and fans are gutted.
In a heartfelt post shared to Facebook earlier today, the band said:
โWe are really sad to announce that we will not be able to play our upcoming shows with Coheed and Cambria due to reasons beyond our control. We were really looking forward to this run and apologise to our fans that had planned to come and see us in the UK. Weโre big fans of @coheed and wish them the best for the tour, and hope that you still go check out their killer show. We canโt wait to come back out next year ourselves and play for you all again.
โ HAKENโ
The lads were clearly buzzing for this run, which wouldโve seen them bring their technical wizardry and prog perfection to stages across the UK alongside Coheedโs sci-fi rock saga madness. Fans online have flooded the comments with sadness and support, with one simply saying: โNooo, I was coming just for Haken!โ ๐ญ
While the exact reason hasnโt been revealed, the band say itโs โbeyond their controlโ โ so it could be anything from visa chaos to logistics or health. Whatever the case, theyโve promised theyโll be back next year to make it up to everyone. And knowing Haken, itโll be worth the wait. ๐ค
Coheed and Cambriaโs UK shows will still go ahead as planned, and Haken are encouraging fans to keep supporting the tour. Which, letโs be honest, is a proper class move. ๐
๐ฌ Keep your eyes peeled on The Riff Report for updates on Hakenโs next UK run โ because when theyโre back, itโs gonna be lush mun.
๐ธ HAKEN + COHEED = Prog Heavenโฆ postponed, not cancelled.
