Anyone hoping to meet Black Label Society at BLOODSTOCK needs to pay attention, because the rules for the band’s signing session are tighter than a Zakk Wylde guitar solo.

Festival organisers have confirmed that the session will be run under a strict set of restrictions designed to keep things fair, orderly and moving within the band’s limited signing window.

The biggest detail? Only 75 people will be allowed into the session.

Not 76. Not “just one more.” Not your mate who turned up five minutes after the queue was capped.

Exactly 75.

A Strict 45-Minute Signing Window

Black Label Society will be signing for 45 minutes only.

The timing is fixed, and fans should not expect the session to be extended if demand is high. Once the 45-minute window closes, the signing is over.

However, there is another important rule that fans need to understand.

Even if all 75 people are seen before the 45 minutes have finished, organisers will not add more people to the queue to fill the remaining time.

The limit is 75 people, regardless of how quickly the session moves.

First Come, First Served

There will be no separate queue for VIP ticket holders, no paid priority access and no special fast-track system.

The signing will operate on a completely first come, first served basis.

According to the restrictions, the aim is to give every festival-goer an equal opportunity to attend the session, regardless of their ticket type, status or access level.

That means arriving early will likely be essential.

With Black Label Society being one of the biggest names at the festival, those 75 places could disappear extremely quickly.

The Queue Will Be Counted Twice

Organisers are taking the queue cap seriously.

The 75-person total will be counted and verified using a minimum of two independent methods.

This is intended to make sure the cap is accurate and prevent confusion once the maximum number of attendees has been reached.

Once staff confirm that 75 people are in the queue, nobody else will be admitted.

Fans arriving after the cap has been reached should respect the instructions of signing tent staff and avoid attempting to join the queue.

No Guitars Allowed

This is one of the most important restrictions.

Fans will not be permitted to bring guitars into the signing session.

The ban also covers:

  • Parts of guitars
  • Guitar accessories
  • Detachable guitar components
  • Guitar-related equipment intended for signing

Anyone attempting to enter the signing session with a guitar, part of a guitar or guitar accessory will be refused entry.

So, no full-size Les Pauls, no scratchplates, no pickup covers and no trying to sneak a guitar neck under your battle jacket.

Leave the axe at home, butt.

One Item Per Person

Each of the 75 successful attendees will be allowed to have one item signed by the band.

Strictly one.

Fans will be required to show their chosen item to signing tent staff before being granted entry to the session.

It is therefore worth deciding what you want signed before joining the queue.

Whether it is an album, poster, festival programme, photograph or piece of official merchandise, make sure it is ready and easy for staff to inspect.

Turning up with a bag full of records and hoping the band signs the lot is not going to work.

The Band Can Refuse Certain Items

Black Label Society reserves the right to refuse to sign anything the band considers inappropriate.

Festival-goers should use common sense when choosing their item.

Anything offensive, unsuitable or likely to cause delays could be rejected by the band or signing tent staff.

The safest option is to bring official merchandise, physical music releases, posters, photographs or festival memorabilia.

No Selfies or Personal Photographs

Fans will not be allowed to take personal pictures or selfies with the band during the signing session.

This restriction is likely intended to keep the queue moving and ensure all 75 attendees have the opportunity to receive their autograph within the limited time available.

While it may be tempting to stop for a quick photograph, doing so would slow down the session and reduce the amount of time available for everyone else.

Phones should therefore be kept away while moving through the signing area unless staff advise otherwise.

Why Are the Rules So Strict?

Major festival signing sessions can attract huge queues, particularly when a band as popular as Black Label Society is involved.

Without firm restrictions, sessions can quickly become overcrowded, delayed or unfair to fans who have queued patiently.

By limiting the session to 75 people, one item each and no photographs, organisers can provide a clear structure while giving every admitted attendee a proper opportunity to meet the band.

The absence of VIP or paid priority access also ensures that standard ticket holders have exactly the same chance as everyone else.

It may feel strict, but at least the rules are clear.

Black Label Society Signing Rules in Full

Fans planning to attend should remember the following:

  • The session will last strictly 45 minutes
  • Only 75 people will be admitted
  • The queue cap will be verified by at least two independent methods
  • Entry is first come, first served
  • There is no paid, VIP or priority access
  • No additional people will be added if the 75 attendees finish early
  • No guitars are permitted
  • No guitar parts or guitar accessories are permitted
  • Each attendee may bring one item only
  • Items must be shown to signing tent staff before entry
  • No personal photographs or selfies are allowed
  • The band may refuse to sign inappropriate items

Arrive Early and Come Prepared

With only 75 places available, this will almost certainly be one of the most competitive signing sessions of the weekend.

Fans hoping to attend should arrive early, bring one suitable item and follow all instructions provided by festival staff.

Do not bring a guitar, do not expect priority access and do not attempt to join the queue after it has been capped.

Once those 75 spaces are gone, that is it.

Black Label Society fans will need to be organised, prepared and ready to move quickly.

One band. One item. Seventy-five fans. Forty-five minutes. Zero messing about.

Proudly Welsh. Proudly Loud. 🤘🔥

Michael

Michael

🎸 About Michael Michael is the founder, editor and chief riff wrangler of The Riff Report, an independent Welsh rock, metal and alternative music publication built by fans, for fans. A lifelong rock and metal fan, Michael has spent years immersed in the music, culture and community that surround the heavier side of life. From discovering new bands and digging through classic albums to standing in muddy festival fields, squeezing into packed venues and spending far too much time near the front of a stage, music has always been much more than background noise — it is a massive part of who he is. That passion eventually became The Riff Report, a publication created to celebrate the bands, artists, venues, festivals, photographers, promoters and fans who keep the rock and metal world turning. Michael spends much of the year covering gigs, festivals, tours, album releases, new singles, interviews and music news, with a camera never too far away and a press pass usually hanging somewhere around his neck. Whether it is a huge arena show, a major outdoor festival or a tiny grassroots venue packed with people discovering their new favourite band, he believes every part of the scene has stories worth telling. For Michael, one of the biggest joys of music journalism is being able to shine a light on artists at every level. The Riff Report is just as interested in the hungry independent band playing to 50 people as it is in the global act headlining to 50,000. Supporting unsigned, independent and grassroots musicians is a huge part of the publication’s identity, because every legendary band started somewhere. Sometimes the next big thing is not on a massive billboard or a major-label playlist — sometimes they are crammed onto a tiny stage in a pub, plugging in their own gear and hoping somebody in the room remembers their name. Michael wants The Riff Report to be one of the places that remembers.
