No, it is not a newly discovered thrash band from Wolverhampton.
It is Bloodstock’s mobile cooling machine, fully loaded with water misters and prepared to spray a refreshing fine mist across festival crowds when the heat starts becoming heavier than the breakdowns.
Because, as Bloodstock perfectly put it:
We only want the riffs melting faces.

🌡️ What Is the Sweat Slayer?
The Sweat Slayer is a mobile water-misting unit designed to help cool festival-goers during particularly hot weather.
If Bloodstock gets roasting — and we are not just talking about the temperature inside a packed circle pit — the machine will be positioned near the front of two of the festival’s biggest stages:
- The Ronnie James Dio Stage
- The Sophie Lancaster Stage
From there, it will blast a fine cooling spray over the crowd, giving sweaty metalheads a much-needed break from the heat.
Think of it as a giant festival fan, a garden sprinkler and a heavy metal stage prop all welded together in somebody’s gloriously chaotic shed.
Bloodstock has confirmed that towels and soap will not be included, so do not expect a full-service shower while waiting for your favourite band. 😂
💧 Free Water Points Across Bloodstock
The Sweat Slayer is only one part of Bloodstock’s plan to keep fans safe and hydrated.
Multiple free drinking-water points will be located throughout the festival arena and campsites, allowing everyone to refill their bottles across the weekend.
Bloodstock has stated that these water points will be kept supplied and should not run dry.
That means there is absolutely no excuse for attempting to survive three days of metal using nothing but warm cider and half a can of energy drink found at the bottom of your tent.
Bring a suitable bottle, use the refill stations regularly and keep yourself topped up throughout the day.
What Bottle Should You Bring?
Festival-goers should bring a:
- Reusable water bottle
- Non-glass container
- Bottle that is easy to carry around the arena
- Bottle you are happy to refill repeatedly
Glass bottles are not permitted, so leave the fancy kitchenware at home.
A collapsible bottle can be particularly handy because it takes up very little room when empty. A lightweight plastic or metal reusable bottle is also a solid choice, provided it complies with the festival’s entry rules.
Check the official Bloodstock site map when it becomes available and familiarise yourself with the locations of the water points before the riffs begin.

Apply sunscreen before heading into the arena and remember to reapply it throughout the day, particularly after sweating heavily or standing beneath the Sweat Slayer.

We understand the festival uniform.

You do not need to abandon your metal credentials and turn up dressed like you are heading to a beach resort, but a few sensible choices can make a massive difference.

That would be a lie so enormous it would need its own headline slot.

It is not glamorous, but neither is being escorted to the medical tent while your favourite band launches into the song you have waited years to hear.
Eating proper meals also matters. A weekend powered entirely by crisps and regret will eventually catch up with you.

Bloodstock’s message is not only about individual safety. It is also about looking after the wider festival community.
Should you notice another fan struggling in the heat, check whether they are okay.

- A mate to stay with them
Bloodstock has encouraged fans to share sunscreen when they spot somebody slowly turning into a lobster.
