Norway may be famous for frostbitten black metal, dramatic landscapes and riffs colder than a Greggs pasty left on a festival bench overnight — but Ghost Avenue are here to remind everyone that classic heavy metal is still alive, loud, leather-clad and absolutely refusing to behave. 🤘🔥
Hailing from the suburbs of Oslo, Ghost Avenue were born back in 2002 with one mission: to fly the flag for proper traditional heavy metal at a time when they felt there simply weren’t enough new bands keeping that glorious old-school fire burning.
And fair play — they’ve been doing exactly that ever since.
Classic Metal, Big Hooks And Absolutely No Nonsense 🎸
Ghost Avenue deal in the good stuff:
melodic songs, catchy choruses, tight riffs, twin guitars, screaming solos, pounding bass, hard-hitting drums and balls-out vocals.
Basically, if you like your metal served with denim, leather, sweat, and enough 80s spirit to make your speakers grow a mullet, this lot are right up your street.
Their sound proudly nods to the golden era of 80s hard rock and heavy metal, but they’re not just dusting off old tricks for nostalgia points. Ghost Avenue bring their own bite, their own swagger, and their own Norwegian steel to the table — keeping things fresh for both old-school headbangers and newer fans discovering the magic of classic metal.
New Album: Full Throttle Arrives June 2026 🚀
The band have just finished recording their brand-new album:
Full Throttle
And with a title like that, you already know this isn’t going to be some gentle Sunday stroll through the fjords.
The album features eight brand-new songs and is set for digital release on 19th June 2026, with a vinyl edition following later in the year.
Expect riffs. Expect solos. Expect proper heavy metal thunder. Lovely stuff, mun. 😈
A Band Built For The Stage 🎤🔥
Ghost Avenue have spent the last twelve years earning their stripes the proper way — on stage, in front of real crowds, throwing everything they’ve got into every show.
Their live history is stacked with serious highlights, including support slots with:
- JORN
- Anvil
- W.A.S.P
- T.N.T
- The Carburetors
- Dream Evil
- Tad Morose
- David Reece
- Backstreet Girls
They’ve also played venues and festivals across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Cyprus and England — including a very special UK appearance at The Cart & Horses, the legendary pub known as the birthplace of Iron Maiden.
Now that’s not just a gig. That’s a pilgrimage. 🤘
Festival Firepower 🔥
Ghost Avenue have also brought their classic metal attack to festivals including:
Power of the Night Festival, Norway Rock Festival, Rock the Boat, Spydeberg Rock Festival, Odal Rock Festival, Oak Metal Fest and Karmøygeddon Kick Off.
From packed venues in Oslo to international stages, Ghost Avenue have built their reputation the honest way: riffs first, ego second, volume permanently turned up.

The Riff Report Verdict 🤘
Ghost Avenue are keeping the classic heavy metal flame blazing with pride, passion and absolutely zero interest in chasing trends.
They understand the assignment:
big riffs, bigger choruses, twin guitar glory, and live shows that hit you straight in the chest like a pint cup full of thunder.
With Full Throttle roaring into view this June, Ghost Avenue look ready to remind everyone that traditional heavy metal isn’t a museum piece — it’s alive, sweaty, loud, and still kicking the doors off venues across Europe.
Turn it up, butt. Norway’s bringing the riffs. 🔥🎸
