Alright, strap in, butt — because KRUSHER isn’t just a name… it’s a bloody institution in British heavy metal. From backstage chaos to front-cover glory, from slamming riffs to killer artwork, Krusher Joule has lived, breathed, and bled more metal than most could even imagine. 🤘🇬🇧
He’s the loudmouth, the artist, the DJ, the designer — the geezer who’s probably shouted “Oi! Turn it up!” at more legends than anyone alive. 🥃🔥
⚡ WHO (THE HELL) IS KRUSHER?
Full Name: Stephen Joule, better known as Krusher
Born: West Midlands, England
Occupation: Artist / Designer / Broadcaster / Metal Maniac / Walking Chaos Generator
Claim to Fame: Creating the iconic artwork, stage visuals, and designs for some of the biggest names in metal history
He’s a man who’s part artist, part anarchist, and entirely metal as f**.*
Before the tattoos, leather, and booming laugh became legendary, Krusher came up through the gritty UK rock scene of the ‘70s and ‘80s — the golden age of NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal).
He didn’t just watch it happen — he helped build it.
🎨 ART, ATTITUDE & ANARCHY
Krusher’s fingerprints are all over rock history. His artwork defined an era of metal — loud, proud, and unapologetically mad.
He’s designed for:
⚡ Ozzy Osbourne – Including the No Rest for the Wicked and No More Tears eras
⚡ Motörhead – That snarling attitude? Krusher lived it
⚡ Girlschool, Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Love/Hate, Lawnmower Deth, and countless more
⚡ And of course, the Monsters of Rock and Download Festival logos and posters that became staples of UK metal culture 🏰
His style? Think metal carnage meets punk chaos — grotesque, gorgeous, and totally unfiltered.
If Derek Riggs painted your nightmares, Krusher gave them a beer and a megaphone. 🍻💀
🎤 THE BROADCAST BEAST
When he’s not designing your favourite album covers, Krusher’s been on the airwaves, behind the decks, and in the pit — blasting metal across the UK like some sort of sonic outlaw.
He’s hosted:
🎧 Krusher’s Metal Mayhem (radio shows & club nights that melted ears nationwide)
🎤 Kerrang! Radio – As one of its loudest personalities
🎸 Countless festival stages, introducing bands with a roar that could summon thunder
He’s got a voice that sounds like Lemmy gargling whisky — and he uses it to celebrate the music he loves.
🎸 THE BAND: KRUSHER THE FRONTMAN
Yep — he didn’t just draw the bands, he became one.
Back in the day, Krusher even fronted his own band — a chaotic mix of metal, punk, and pure pub-fuelled mayhem.
It wasn’t about fame — it was about fun, fire, and flipping the bird to conformity.
He brought the same energy from his art and radio work to the stage — sweaty, shouty, and spectacularly unhinged.
💀 LEGACY IN METAL
Krusher isn’t just a figure in heavy metal — he’s one of the people who made it look and feel the way it does.
From t-shirt designs to stage banners, festival posters to album covers — his art defined the attitude of British rock in the ‘80s and beyond.
His contribution to the scene has been celebrated by everyone from Metallica to Steel Panther (who called him “the loudest man in the UK”).
He’s the bridge between art and attitude, the keeper of the flame, and the unofficial high priest of British heavy metal culture. 🕯️⚙️
