“You’ve been dreaming for so long…”
Well WAKE UP, sunshine – Of Mice & Men just kicked the doors off 2025 with the kind of sonic sermon that makes you question reality, your sleep schedule, and whether it’s legal to chug Monster in a cathedral. 😇💀
Their new album Another Miracle has officially been announced — and with it comes the jaw-droppingly lush single “Wake Up”, a dreamy dive into the world of shoegazy alt-metalcore madness. Yep, we said shoegazy. This ain’t 2012 Warped Tour anymore, kids — OM&M are levelling up. 🌀🎸
🎶 WAKE UP: SHOEGAZE, BREAKDOWNS & A SANCTIFIED RIFFING
Let’s get one thing straight — Wake Up might be one of OM&M’s most sonically beautiful tracks ever.
It’s all breathy vocals and floaty guitars, but don’t get comfy — just when you start swaying like you’re in an ethereal dreamscape, the chug chug comes crashing in like a steel boot to the temple. 🥾💥
The band describes the track as:
“Delicate and almost shoegazy… with the weight and drive of our heavier roots.”
Imagine Nineties alt-acoustic vibes wearing a battle vest and drop-kicking your soul. It’s cinematic, it’s haunting, it’s bloody lush.
🎥 AND THE VIDEO?
Directed by long-time visual wizard Mike Matsui, the video was filmed inside a historic San Francisco church. The stained glass, the acoustics, the holy riffing… it’s a spiritual experience.
“We don’t think anyone’s ever played a breakdown in that church before,” they said. “So we’re pretty sure we made history!”
Oi, imagine being the poor vicar walking in on THAT rehearsal. 😅
🛠 THE DIY ERA OF OM&M IS HERE
One of the most jaw-dropping things about Another Miracle? It’s entirely self-made. No outside producers. No studio suits. Just the four of ‘em, going full wizard mode. 🧙♂️🎛️
The band wrote, produced, engineered, mixed AND mastered the entire album themselves — with frontman Aaron Pauley handling the mix like an absolute legend.
“We wanted this to be more personal. Something only we could make.”
That’s not just dedication, that’s artistic therapy via amp stacks and emotional screaming. And we’re bloody here for it. 🙌
💿 THE ALBUM: ANOTHER MIRACLE
Coming this August, Another Miracle is the long-awaited follow-up to 2023’s Tether, and it’s being billed as the band’s most melodic and heaviest work yet.
According to OM&M:
“We’ve raised the bar on the melodic side, doubled down on the heaviness, and made something that is an incredibly strong and authentic representation of who we are in 2025.”
Let’s break that down like we’re in the pit:
💥 What You Can Expect:
- Dreamy vocals that sound like a lullaby wrapped in distortion
- Thicc riffs with more crunch than a Wetherspoons mixed grill
- Shoegaze soundscapes made for crying in a hoodie at 3am
- Breakdowns holy enough to resurrect your emo phase
- A personal touch — from the songwriting to the snare mix
Honestly? It’s giving post-hardcore grown-up, and it slaps.
🔥 THE OM&M EVOLUTION
For the uninitiated: Of Mice & Men started as one of the big names in the 2010s metalcore boom, often rubbing shoulders with the likes of Attack Attack!, Asking Alexandria, and Bring Me The Horizon.
But in recent years, they’ve evolved. This ain’t just “mosh and cry” music anymore — this is emotional catharsis with reverb pedals and grown-up grief. 🥀
They’re now in full control of their destiny. DIY production. More refined. More ambitious. And more themselves than ever before.
