Whatโs occurring, butt!?
Strap on your studded belt, spill some cheap lager on your Docs, and prepare to vanish into the glorious paper-cut universe of 1980s Italian punk โ because a MASSIVE new archive has just detonated onto the internet, and it is pure DIY gold dust. ๐ฅ๐ฐ
Bologna punk archivist Paolo Palmacci has undertaken the kind of project that only a true lifer, scene goblin, and fanzine hoarder could pull off. From his own history in obscure Italian bands to years spent digging through boxes of photocopied mayhem, Paolo has created an online monument to Italyโs punk undergroundโฆ and it absolutely rips. ๐งท๐ฅ
And guess what?
Itโs not a dusty museum job.
Itโs interactive, downloadable, fully chaotic โ a digital squat bursting with noise, ink, and attitude.

So far Paolo has documented 695 Italian punk fanzines, with 635 fully available to read or download for free. FREE, mun. Punk spirit intact. No paywalls, no nonsense, just raw culture.
And this isnโt a pile of random scraps either. Weโre talking iconic hardcore fanzines that shaped Italyโs underground identity:
๐ฅ T.V.O.R. (The Voice Of Rage)
๐ฅ Granducato Hardcore (GDHC)
๐ฅ Brians Out
๐ฅ Nuove dal Fronte
Plus dozens that fed the DIY ecosystems around Raw Power, Peggio Punx, Wretched, Indigesti, and the whole feral army of Italian hardcore legends. ๐ฎ๐นโก
Itโs history told through glue sticks, attitude, and badly-behaved typewriters.
๐ฃ And hereโs the juicy bit for Riff Report readersโฆ
Weโre planning a full interview with Paolo himself.
Yup โ a deep dive into this colossal project, the DIY networks that shaped Italian punk, and how these photocopied artefacts carried entire scenes on their backs.
Imagine the stories: basement gigs, zine trades across continents, dodgy printers, police raids, political firestorms, and a youth scene fuelled by adrenaline and stubbornness. Thatโs the stuff we live for, mun. ๐โ๏ธ
Stay tuned โ weโll be bringing Paoloโs world to the global English-speaking punk community very soon. And if youโre a zine nerd, a HC historian, or someone who spiritually lives inside a gig flyerโฆ this archive will swallow your entire evening. Proper job.
