Swagger. Soul. Riffs for days. This one’s got main stage energy written all over it, mun!
Right, gather round riff lovers—because The Karma Effect have just dropped Cruel Intentions, and it’s not here to politely introduce itself… it’s here to flip the table, steal your pint, and soundtrack your entire summer. 😈🍻
Landing 15th May 2026 via Earache Records, this beast of a record follows their surprise Top 20 album Promised Land—and oh boy, they’ve cranked everything up to eleven and snapped the knob clean off.
🎤 STRAIGHT OUT THE GATE – ALL GAS, NO BRAKES
From the first blast, frontman Henry Gottelier and crew come swaggering in like they own the venue—and honestly, by track two, they probably do.
The band’s “modern vintage” tag isn’t just marketing fluff either. Nah, this is:
- Classic rock DNA 💿
- Funky, groove-laced swagger 🕺
- Big brass sections that slap harder than last orders 🍺
It’s old-school cool dragged into 2026 with a grin and a leather jacket.
🎸 RIFFS, GROOVE & FILTHY LITTLE HOOKS
Let’s talk sound, yeah?
This album is absolutely dripping in groove. The guitars crunch like a fresh Greggs bake, the bass lines roll like thunder across a festival field, and the drums? Tight enough to knock your pint over mid-headbang. 🥁🔥
And then there’s the horns…
OH YES—the horns.
They don’t just sit politely in the mix—they strut in like they’re headlining their own show, adding that proper retro flair without ever feeling dusty. It’s bold, it’s brassy, and it works an absolute treat.
🎶 TRACK VIBES – BUILT FOR SWEATY GIGS & CHAOTIC NIGHTS
This album feels like it was born on a sticky club floor somewhere between Cardiff and Camden.
Expect:
- Massive choruses made for shouting with strangers
- Bluesy slow-burners that ooze attitude
- Full-throttle stompers that’ll have pits bouncing by the second chorus
Every track feels alive—like it’s begging to be played loud in a packed room with zero personal space and maximum chaos. Just how we like it, butt. 🤘
😈 ATTITUDE LEVEL: THROUGH THE ROOF
What really sells Cruel Intentions is the confidence.
This band know they’ve got something special—and they’re not shy about it.
No chasing trends.
No overthinking.
Just pure, unapologetic rock ‘n’ roll energy with groove, grit, and a wink of mischief.
It’s the sound of a band levelling up—and having the time of their lives doing it.
