One manโs scam is another fanโs meltdownโฆ
“Slip inside the eye of your scam…”
Well, this is peak 2025 madness, isnโt it? While thousands of Oasis fans were getting their bucket hats ironed and parka hoods fluffed, some absolute weapon was out here flogging fake tickets for the reunion gigs in Cardiff. And yes, butt โ heโs been arrested.
Weโll say that again for the people at the back:
A man has been ARRESTED for allegedly selling FAKE OASIS TICKETS. ๐ฑ๐ค
We canโt decide whatโs more shocking โ that someone tried to con die-hard fans out of their gig dreams, or that people actually fell for it. Either way, someoneโs definitely not gonna live forever after this.
๐ถ๏ธ Whoโs the geezer?
Police say heโs a bloke from Pembrokeshire who thought heโd try his luck by posing as some VIP ticket peddler. He was promising private boxes, hospitality lounges, and probably a personal handshake from Bonehead himself (alright, maybe not that last bit).
What fans actually got?
๐ธ Lighter wallets.
๐ง Dodgy email confirmations.
๐ต And the sinking feeling of โOh no, Iโve been mugged offโฆโ
One fan told The Riff Report:
โI was ready for champagne and canapรฉs. Instead, I got Greggs and grief.โ
Another simply said:
โI was tamping, mun. Proper job ruined.โ
๐งป โThe Box Experienceโ = Standing Outside in Tears
Letโs be honest โ if you paid hundreds of quid for a private box and ended up watching Liamโs eyebrows from outside the stadium walls, thatโs not an experience. Thatโs a full-blown Wonder-WOE-nal.
The scam was so convincing, people thought they were getting all-inclusive luxury. Instead, they got duped harder than Noel at a brotherly hug attempt.
Some reckon 100+ people were caught out. Thatโs a LOT of broken dreams, soggy bucket hats, and furious dads named Dave demanding refunds from thin air.
๐ฉ The Arrest: “Caught Beneath the Scamshine”
Thankfully, the long arm of the law got involved, and the scammerโs now facing some serious questions. Like:
- โDid you really think youโd get away with this during an Oasis reunion?โ
- โDo you even know how feral Oasis fans can get when angry?โ
- โCan you actually name three albums, mate?โ
Heโs been arrested on suspicion of fraud, and the investigationโs ongoing. Meanwhile, Liam Gallagher was probably backstage sipping tea, completely unaware of the chaos his existence was causing in the car parks of Cardiff.
๐ Riff Reportโs 5 Rules of Not Getting Shafted by Scammers
- Only buy from official sources. If your mate Daveโs cousinโs dog groomer has “spare VIPs,” run.
- QR codes are like exes โ donโt trust them unless theyโre verified.
- If itโs too good to be true, itโs probably as fake as Liamโs Twitter tantrums.
- Join proper fan resale groups โ not โOasis Tickets Cardiff LOLZ 2K25โ on Facebook.
- Donโt PayPal someone called โNoelIsBack69.โ Seriously. Stop it.
๐ค Final Words:
To the scammer, wherever you are (hopefully sweating in a cell by now):
โYouโre gonna be the one that saves meโฆโ
From ever trusting strangers on the internet again.
Youโre not a rock star. Youโre not a roadie. Youโre just a plonker who made people cry in a stadium car park. And thatโs not very rock โnโ roll, is it?
Stay safe out there, you beautiful bunch. Buy smart. Mosh wisely. And never trust a man with a printer and a dream.
