Three months after fans launched a petition to rename Birmingham Airport in honour of the late, great Prince of Darkness, Sharon Osbourne has officially thrown her horns up in support! ๐ค
When Ozzy passed away aged 76 in July, ex-Kerrang! Radio presenter Dan Hudson kicked off a campaign to give Brumโs biggest rock export the ultimate home-town tribute โ renaming the airport Ozzy Osbourne International. And guess what, butt? The thingโs already taken off faster than a bat at feeding time. ๐ฆโ๏ธ
Hudsonโs petition โ now with over 70,000 signatures โ argues that Birmingham should follow in the footsteps of other cities honouring their musical legends:
โOther airports in the UK are named after their famous children (George Best International Airport in Belfast, John Lennon Airport in Liverpool) โ so itโs only right we do this here in Birmingham, in honour of Ozzy.โ
Now Sharonโs onboard, and sheโs not holding back:
โIt would be amazing. The world loved Ozzy. Itโs just a dream right now, but sometimes dreams come true.โ โค๏ธ
Dan Hudson told the BBC that Sharonโs support has given the campaign a massive boost:
โItโs amazing to see that Sharon is backing the idea. The campaign is growing and growing, and thereโs even more momentum now with Sharon on board.โ
Imagine it, munโฆ stepping off your flight, the tannoy blaring โWelcome to Ozzy Osbourne International Airport โ mind the bats and baggage claim!โ ๐ฆ๐ธ
Birmingham was where it all began โ the smokey pubs, the Sabbath riffs, the birth of heavy metal itself. If anywhere deserves to carry Ozzyโs name sky-high, itโs the city that forged him in steel and sound.

What do you reckon, rockers โ would you fly out of Ozzy International? Or do you think this ideaโs gone off the rails? ๐๐ฅ
