If Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie had a lovechild in a graveyard… and it was raised on Scooby-Doo, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Marilyn Manson records — you’d get Wednesday 13. 🎃⚰️
With a career drenched in fake blood, zombie swagger, and 100% commitment to spooky rock theatrics, Wednesday 13 is not just a band — it’s a lifestyle. One that comes with black nail polish, horror VHS tapes, and riffs that bite.
🧟♂️ FROM MURDERDOLLS TO MONSTER RIFFS: THE ORIGIN STORY
Our corpse-lovin’ hero was born Joseph Poole in North Carolina. But the world came to know him as Wednesday 13 — frontman, horror fanatic, and the glam-ghoul goth punks needed.
Before he started his solo haunting, Wednesday cut his teeth with:
- Maniac Spider Trash – gritty horror-punk beginnings
- Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13 – where the name, the look, and the aesthetic began to rise from the grave
- Murderdolls (2002–2010) – his breakout band, co-founded with Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison. Think sleaze, punk, horror and wild stage antics all rolled into one beautiful coffin-shaped mess.
Then in 2004, he unleashed his own monster: the solo project Wednesday 13 — where he had full creative control to go as creepy, weird, and metal as he damn pleased.
💿 THE DISCOGRAPHY OF DOOM (SO FAR…)
The Wednesday 13 catalogue is like a VHS horror shelf that’s just come to life. Here’s the blood-soaked timeline:
🧨 Studio Albums:
- Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying, and the Dead (2005) 🧛♂️
- Fang Bang (2006) – more rock ‘n’ roll, more sleaze 🧟♂️
- Skeletons (2008) – heavier, darker, more metallic ⚰️
- Calling All Corpses (2011) – punky, catchy, monstrous 👻
- The Dixie Dead (2013) – cinematic horror in album form 🩸
- Monsters of the Universe: Come Out and Plague (2015) – concept album madness 🚨👾
- Condolences (2017) – straight-up horror metal ⚰️🖤
- Necrophaze (2019) – loaded with guests like Alice Cooper and Cristina Scabbia 🧠
- Horrifier (2022) – darker, heavier, and somehow even more Wednesday 🧨🕷️
🦇 VIBES: WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE?
Take the stomp of Rob Zombie, the sleaze of Twisted Sister, the punk snarl of The Misfits, and stir it in a bubbling cauldron of 80s horror references and glam metal guitar solos. Now throw in a blood-spattered trench coat, horror movie samples, and a tongue-in-cheek sense of humour.
That’s Wednesday 13.
