Big news for Welsh rock fans, butt! 🎉 Grammy Award-winning alternative rock legends Weezer have officially announced a brand-new UK arena tour, and they’re saving the best until last with a huge headline show in Cardiff.
The multi-platinum selling band will bring their unmistakable catalogue of anthems to Utilita Arena Cardiff on 23 May 2027, where they’ll wrap up their UK tour in style. Even better? They’ll be joined by emo favourites Taking Back Sunday, making this one seriously stacked night of rock.
🎤 Weezer Return to the UK
Few bands have left a mark on alternative rock quite like Weezer. Formed in Los Angeles in 1992 and fronted by the ever-charismatic Rivers Cuomo, the band have spent more than three decades delivering infectious guitar hooks, unforgettable choruses and some of the biggest rock songs of the modern era.
Fans can expect a set packed with classics including:
- 🎵 Buddy Holly
- 🎵 Say It Ain’t So
- 🎵 Island in the Sun
- 🎵 Hash Pipe
- 🎵 Beverly Hills
Along the way, Weezer have sold millions of albums across the globe, earned a Grammy Award, and built one of the most loyal fanbases in rock music. Their ability to blend crunchy riffs with irresistible pop melodies has kept them relevant through multiple generations of music fans.
Whether you’ve loved them since the Blue Album or discovered them more recently, this promises to be one massive singalong from start to finish.
🤘 Taking Back Sunday Join the Party
As if Weezer weren’t enough, the tour also features legendary New York rockers Taking Back Sunday as special guests.
Since bursting onto the scene in 1999, Taking Back Sunday have become one of the defining bands of the emo and alternative rock explosion of the 2000s.
Expect plenty of crowd surfing, emotional singalongs and nostalgic chaos when they roll out fan favourites including:
- 🔥 MakeDamnSure
- 🔥 A Decade Under the Influence
- 🔥 Cute Without the ‘E’ (Cut from the Team)
It’s the kind of support slot that could easily headline its own tour.
🏟️ Cardiff Gets the Grand Finale
There’s something special about being the final stop of a tour.
By the time Weezer arrive in Cardiff on 23 May 2027, the band will have spent weeks playing packed arenas across the UK, meaning Welsh fans get the honour of helping close the tour on what should be an unforgettable night.
Expect plenty of energy, huge production, massive singalongs and hopefully a few surprises as the curtain comes down on the UK run.
For fans across South Wales—and beyond—this is shaping up to be one of the standout arena shows of 2027.
