Welcome to The Riff Report, where we take your metal news, slam it through a distortion pedal, and blast it out at full volume 🎧💀 And today, butt… we’re talking about the kings of thrash who’ve just bulldozed through the Spotify stats like a flaming tour bus with no brakes — METALLICA.
Forget trends, forget TikTok gimmicks — the Four Horsemen are STILL riding hard, and the numbers prove it. Here’s the full rundown of their latest streaming stats as of summer 2025 — and why Metallica might be the most un-killable band in music history. 🤘
⚔️ THE STATS – SUMMER 2025 WRAPPED (SO FAR)
📊 Total Streams as Lead Artist: 15.85 BILLION
🎧 Total Streams (incl. features): 15.92 BILLION
👥 Monthly Spotify Listeners: 30.6 MILLION
📈 Songs with over a BILLION streams:
- Enter Sandman – 1.78B
- Nothing Else Matters – 1.43B
- Master of Puppets – 1.01B (Joined the Billions Club in April 2025!)
💀 Top 10 most streamed songs right now? Still the classic bangers you blasted in your mum’s car or snuck on your school playlist when everyone else was into pop-punk.
💡 WHY THIS STILL MATTERS IN 2025
Because in a world where music is consumed in 30-second chunks and half of the charts sound like a looped doorbell chime, Metallica are proving that actual songs — proper albums, even — are still being devoured. And not just in the millions… in the billions.
They haven’t dropped a new album since 72 Seasons (2023), and still, they’re steamrolling streaming stats like it’s the Black Album all over again. They’re not trendy. They’re not chasing charts. They’re just LOUD, UNAPOLOGETIC, and EVERYWHERE.
🧠 METALLICA BY COUNTRY – GLOBAL DOMINATION
Metallica aren’t just big in Birmingham or Buenos Aires. They’ve got fans in 183 countries. That’s almost everywhere you can plug in a guitar. From Welsh valleys to the deserts of Dubai, some poor neighbour is hearing Seek & Destroy through the wall right now.
Want specifics? Metallica regularly trends in:
- 🇺🇸 USA (obviously)
- 🇧🇷 Brazil (mosh pits go hard there)
- 🇩🇪 Germany (Wacken says hi!)
- 🇬🇧 UK (YESS MUN!)
- 🇯🇵 Japan (they treat riffs like religion)
🤯 MASTER OF PUPPETS – JOINING THE BILLIONS CLUB
Let’s give it up for “Master of Puppets”, the 1986 thrash anthem that just crossed 1 billion streams in April 2025. A song with zero radio friendliness, zero pop appeal, and a runtime that’d make a Swiftie skip.
This isn’t some manufactured viral moment. This is raw, pure, uncompromising metal being streamed by everyone from Gen X roadies to Gen Alpha Eddie Munson wannabes.
🎸 “Taste me you will see / More is all you need / Dedicated to… how I’m streaming you!”
🔥 METALLICA STILL TOURING, STILL DESTROYING
While their streams are blowing up, Metallica’s M72 World Tour is still rolling across the globe — and the shows are massive. Two-night stadium takeovers. Different setlists. Snake pits. Pyro. Lars being… Lars.
People are discovering their music at these gigs, then diving into the back catalogue, then streaming it all over again. It’s a self-feeding metal loop, and Spotify loves it.
🧾 STREAMING REVENUE? LET’S GUESS
So how much are they making? Spotify famously pays about $0.003 to $0.005 per stream, depending on deals.
Do the maths:
💰 15.9 BILLION streams × $0.004 average = ~$63.6 million
Now divide that between the band, labels, lawyers, managers, and whatever weird legal battle Lars is in next — and you’ve still got enough left to build a life-size iron version of the Black Album snake logo.
🗣️ WHAT THE RIFF REPORT THINKS
Here’s the thing, butt — Metallica are untouchable. They’re not the flavour of the week. They are the main course. And we are all sitting at the riff buffet like it’s Christmas dinner and someone spiked the gravy.
The fact that songs written decades ago are still racking up billions of plays tells you all you need to know:
🎤 Metal never died. It just grew a longer beard and got better headphones.
📣 SHARE THIS POST, THEN STREAM “BATTERY”
Let’s face it — someone in your life needs this stat drop. Share it on socials. Yell it in the pub. Tattoo it on your calf.
And while you’re at it, go play “Battery” loud enough to make the neighbour’s dog bark in Morse code.
