Whatโs occurring? Metallica have just dropped one of the wildest fan treats of 2025 โ a free concert experience, captured in jaw-dropping Apple Immersive Video. The catch? Youโll need to strap a ยฃ3,499 Apple Vision Pro headset to your noggin. Thatโs right mun, itโs free if youโve already bought the most expensive gig ticket in the galaxy.
When and where? ๐ฅ
The show launches Friday 14th March 2025 on Apple Vision Pro. If you donโt own the headset, you can still blag a taste via Apple Store demos, so no need to flog your Nanโs caravan just yet.
What do you get? ๐ถ
This isnโt some shaky phone footage โ itโs full 180-degree Apple Immersive magic with spatial audio. Apple shoved 14 special cameras all around the stage at the M72 Tour finale in Mexico City, so youโll feel like youโre onstage with the lads without risking a boot up the backside from security.
The setlist is short but savage:
- Whiplash (classic thrash whiplash for your neck muscles)
- One (proper goosebump territory)
- Enter Sandman (because of course โ itโs basically law)
Why itโs tidy (and why itโs tamping) โก
โ
Free Metallica content โ lush move for fans.
โ
Setlist designed to make your living room rattle.
โ The barrier to entry: a ยฃ3.5k headset. Thatโs a lot of pints, kebabs and festival tickets.
The verdict ๐ป
This is Metallica embracing the future while giving fans something exclusive, intense and, letโs be honest, a bit ridiculous. If youโre tech-curious, it could be the closest youโll get to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Hetfield and Hammett without security hurling you out the pit.
For the rest of us? Looks like weโll be booking a cheeky Apple Store demo day out. Just remember, no bin jousting in the Genius Bar, alright?
๐ฅ The Riff Report says: Proper job if youโre a metalhead with deep pockets. For everyone else, bring your mates, try the demo, and yell YESS MUN! when Hetfield growls โYEAH-YEAH-YEAH-YEAH.โ
