Iron Maiden fans heading to EddFest at Knebworth this Friday and Saturday might want to leave the ponchos at home and start worshipping at the altar of suncream, because the weather is looking hotter than Eddie’s bad temper.

With thousands of Maiden faithful preparing to descend on Knebworth for a weekend of riffs, denim, battle jackets, questionable sunburn patterns, and enough “Up the Irons!” chants to shake Hertfordshire sideways, the forecast is looking very much like sunshine, sweat, and heavy metal glory.

Friday is expected to be partly to mostly sunny and very warm, with temperatures climbing to around 31°C.
That is not “ooh, it’s a bit warm” weather.
That is standing in a field wearing black jeans, a black band tee, a black hoodie tied around your waist, and wondering why your soul has started to boil weather.

The big thing for Friday is hydration. Proper hydration. Not “I had one sip of water after my third pint” hydration. We’re talking actual water, mun. The kind that keeps you upright when the sun is doing its best impression of a pyro cannon.

Saturday is also looking lush, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures reaching around 29°C.
That means another warm one for the EddFest faithful, but slightly less roast-dinner-in-a-leather-jacket than Friday.
Still, don’t get cocky.
This is exactly the kind of weather where you leave the house thinking, “I’ll be fine,” and then six hours later you’re redder than a stage light, drinking lukewarm water like it’s been blessed by the gods of metal.
The evening should cool down a bit, so while the daytime is looking proper hot, it may be worth packing a light layer for later. Nobody wants to spend the night shivering after spending the afternoon melting like cheese on a Greggs bake.
