Rock fans, collectors and anyone currently wondering whether they really need both kidneys β€” brace yourselves. Some seriously legendary pieces of music history are heading under the hammer. πŸ€˜πŸ’°

A stage-worn outfit belonging to Queen icon Freddie Mercury and a jacket worn by Jon Bon Jovi are among the headline attractions in a massive music memorabilia auction taking place in London this October.

And we’re not talking about a signed CD somebody found down the back of a sofa, mun.

We’re talking proper pieces of rock β€˜n’ roll history.

πŸ‘‘ Freddie Mercury’s Stage-Worn Outfit

One of the biggest attractions is a black embellished wraparound top and matching flared trousers worn by Freddie Mercury during Queen’s Sheer Heart Attack Tour.

The outfit is expected to fetch an eye-watering Β£60,000 to Β£120,000.

Yes.

One hundred and twenty grand.

But then again, this isn’t just an old stage costume. This is clothing worn by one of the greatest frontmen ever to pick up a microphone.

The Sheer Heart Attack era helped transform Queen into an international rock powerhouse, with the 1974 album delivering classics including Killer Queen and Now I’m Here.

Mercury’s theatrical stage presence was already becoming legendary, and his outfits would become almost as recognisable as the songs themselves.

For serious Queen collectors, owning something Freddie actually wore on stage is about as close as rock memorabilia gets to possessing the Crown Jewels.

Except these ones probably smell faintly of amplifiers and 1970s backstage chaos.

🎸 Jon Bon Jovi’s Wembley Jacket Is Going Under The Hammer

Bon Jovi fans aren’t getting off cheaply either.

An orange Dolce & Gabbana leather jacket worn by Jon Bon Jovi during the band’s enormous Wembley Stadium concert in 1995 is also included in the sale.

It’s expected to fetch somewhere between Β£10,000 and Β£20,000.

The Wembley performances came during Bon Jovi’s huge These Days era and remain part of the band’s incredible live history.

Picture it.

Wembley Stadium packed with thousands of rock fans.

Jon Bon Jovi commanding the stage.

Massive choruses echoing around the stadium.

Hair everywhere.

Peak ’90s rock glory.

And now one of the jackets worn during that period could end up hanging in someone’s wardrobe.

Although if you’ve just spent Β£20,000 on it, we’re guessing you probably shouldn’t wear it down the local Wetherspoons.

🀘 More Than 800 Pieces Of Music History

The two rock legends are only part of the story.

The Propstore Music Memorabilia Live Auction – London Autumn 2026 features hundreds of pieces connected to some of the biggest artists in music history.

More than 800 lots are reportedly involved, with the collection estimated to be worth around Β£3 million overall.

Among the artists represented are:

  • Queen
  • Oasis
  • The Beatles
  • John Lennon
  • Michael Jackson
  • Sex Pistols
  • Nirvana
  • Metallica
  • Led Zeppelin
  • David Bowie
  • Johnny Cash
  • U2
  • Coldplay
  • Spice Girls
  • Ozzy Osbourne
  • Guns N’ Roses
  • Green Day

Basically, somebody has emptied the world’s greatest rock β€˜n’ roll attic.

πŸ‘“ John Lennon’s Glasses Could Fetch Β£200,000

Another potential heavyweight of the auction comes from John Lennon.

A pair of the Beatles legend’s tinted prescription glasses carries an estimated value of Β£100,000 to Β£200,000.

There’s also a Pan Am menu reportedly signed by all four Beatles, estimated at between Β£40,000 and Β£80,000.

Imagine casually owning something signed by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

That’s not going in the kitchen drawer next to the takeaway menus, is it?

🎀 Oasis Fans Better Hide Their Bank Cards

There’s plenty for Oasis collectors too.

The auction catalogue includes memorabilia connected with the Manchester giants, including a Noel Gallagher handwritten set of β€œMorning Glory” lyrics, alongside photography and other pieces from the band’s history.

With Oasis memorabilia already hugely sought-after, particularly following the excitement surrounding their reunion era, expect some serious bidding when those lots appear.

🎹 A Piano With An Absolutely Ridiculous Rock CV

And then there’s a piano.

Not just any piano, mind.

A Yamaha C3 from Musicland Studios is being offered with an estimate of Β£200,000 to Β£400,000.

The instrument has links to an extraordinary list of musicians who recorded at the legendary Munich studio.

At Β£400,000, you’d probably want security guards standing either side of it every time somebody’s child asks if they can play Chopsticks.

🏨 Fans Can See Some Of The Items For FREE

Here’s the tidy bit if you haven’t got Β£120,000 sitting underneath the mattress.

Fans will have an opportunity to see selected highlights from the auction without actually buying anything.

Propstore is holding a public exhibition featuring more than 70 highlight lots at:

The Cumberland Hotel, London

πŸ“… 24–27 September 2026

The exhibition will include memorabilia connected to artists including Queen, Oasis, John Lennon, Michael Jackson and the Sex Pistols.

So even if your bank account starts crying whenever somebody says β€œauction”, you can still get up close to some genuine music history.

πŸ’° When Is The Propstore Music Auction?

The Music Memorabilia Live Auction – London Autumn 2026 takes place:

πŸ“… 1–2 October 2026
πŸ“ London

Collectors from around the world are expected to battle it out for pieces spanning decades of music history.

And judging by some of these estimates, we’re expecting a few bank managers to receive nervous phone calls.

🀘 The Riff Report Verdict

There’s music memorabilia…

…and then there’s Freddie Mercury’s actual stage clothing.

Items like these aren’t simply expensive bits of fabric, paper or leather. They’re physical survivors from moments that helped create rock history.

Freddie Mercury standing beneath the lights during Queen’s rise to superstardom.

Jon Bon Jovi commanding Wembley Stadium.

John Lennon wearing those unmistakable glasses.

Noel Gallagher scribbling down lyrics that millions of people would eventually sing back at him.

That’s what makes auctions like this fascinating even if, like most of us, your bidding budget is considerably closer to Β£20 and a Greggs sausage roll than Β£200,000. πŸ˜‚

For the collectors with extremely deep pockets, October could deliver the ultimate addition to their collection.

For everyone else?

We’ll happily stare at Freddie’s outfit through the glass and pretend we’re deciding whether to bid.

β€œΒ£120,000? Hmm… I’ll have a think about it, butt.” πŸ€˜πŸ˜‚
