Australian metalcore wrecking crew Alpha Wolf have dropped some absolutely massive news: longtime vocalist Lochie Keogh has left the band, with the group cancelling their upcoming European headline tour and every remaining show scheduled for 2026.
Yeah… this one hurts, mun. 💔🤘
Alpha Wolf confirmed on 21 August 2026 that they have “mutually parted ways” with Keogh, bringing to an end a hugely important chapter in the band’s story. The announcement was accompanied by a request for privacy, with the group giving no further explanation for the split. (Rolling Stone Australia)
And with Lochie’s departure comes another massive blow for fans: Alpha Wolf won’t be playing any more shows during 2026.
🐺 Alpha Wolf Confirm Lochie Keogh’s Departure
In their announcement, Alpha Wolf said they were deeply saddened by the situation but remained hopeful about what comes next.
They also specifically asked fans to respect both Lochie’s privacy and the band’s privacy while they navigate the transition.
That point is worth respecting.
There will inevitably be questions, rumours and speculation whenever a major member suddenly leaves a band, particularly when an entire tour disappears with them. But right now, Alpha Wolf haven’t publicly provided a reason beyond confirming that the two parties have mutually parted ways. (Music Feeds)
So until somebody involved chooses to say more, that’s where the story stands.
No rumour mill required, butt.
💥 The European Headline Tour Is Cancelled
Unfortunately, this isn’t simply a lineup announcement.
Alpha Wolf have also made the difficult decision to cancel their upcoming European headline tour, along with all other remaining performances scheduled for 2026, while the band works through the change. (Music Feeds)
That’s going to sting particularly badly for UK fans.
The planned October run had included dates in:
- 🇬🇧 13 October – Electric Brixton, London
- 🏴 14 October – The Garage, Glasgow
- 🇬🇧 15 October – Manchester Academy 2
- 🇬🇧 16 October – XOYO, Birmingham
- 🇬🇧 17 October – Electric Bristol, Bristol
The tour had been scheduled to feature support from Psycho-Frame, Fox Lake and Diamond Construct across much of the run. (www.livenation.co.uk)
That was shaping up to be an absolutely filthy evening of breakdowns, flying limbs and questionable next-morning neck mobility.
Sadly, it isn’t happening now.
Fans holding tickets should keep an eye on information from their original ticket provider and individual venues regarding the cancellation and refund process.
🎤 Lochie Keogh’s Alpha Wolf Era
For plenty of modern metalcore fans, it’s difficult to imagine Alpha Wolf without Lochie Keogh standing at the front.
Keogh joined the band in 2018, alongside drummer Mitch Fogarty, and became an integral part of the version of Alpha Wolf that exploded internationally. (Concert Archives)
His vicious vocal delivery became one of the defining ingredients in the band’s sound – that nasty collision of metalcore, hardcore, nu-metal textures and breakdowns capable of making an entire venue suddenly forget that knees are supposed to bend normally.
During his time with the band, Alpha Wolf developed from an Australian heavy prospect into an international force.
And anyone who has witnessed them live knows exactly what we’re talking about.
Those shows weren’t exactly gentle evenings out.
You didn’t leave an Alpha Wolf gig thinking:
“Well, that was pleasant.”
You left wondering where your other shoe had gone and why somebody else’s Monster Energy was somehow inside your jacket.
That’s the Alpha Wolf experience. 😂🤘
🐺 What Happens To Alpha Wolf Now?
That’s the enormous question.
The wording of the announcement is important because Alpha Wolf have not announced that they’re breaking up.
Instead, they’re cancelling their remaining 2026 commitments while they “work through this transition.”
That certainly suggests there is still a future being considered for Alpha Wolf beyond the current upheaval.
Exactly what that future looks like remains completely unknown.
Will Alpha Wolf recruit another permanent vocalist?
Could somebody already connected to the Australian heavy scene step into the role?
Will the band take an extended break before deciding what happens next?
Right now, anything beyond the band’s statement would be speculation.
Replacing a vocalist is difficult enough.
Replacing someone whose voice, personality and stage presence have become heavily associated with a band’s identity is another beast entirely.
💔 A Massive Change For One Of Modern Metalcore’s Heavy Hitters
There’s no getting around it: this is a huge moment for Alpha Wolf.
Bands evolve. Members come and go. Sometimes lineup changes eventually create incredible new eras.
But that doesn’t make the end of an established chapter any less strange.
Lochie Keogh has been standing at the front during Alpha Wolf’s rise through the international heavy scene, and thousands of fans discovered the band with his voice absolutely detonating through their speakers.
For those fans, this news is going to feel enormous.
The cancellation of the European tour makes it even tougher, particularly for people who had already bought tickets, booked hotels or started planning their October gig adventures.
Still, the band’s request for privacy deserves to be taken seriously.
Whatever has led to this decision is ultimately between Lochie and Alpha Wolf, unless either side decides to discuss it publicly.
🤘 The Riff Report Says…
This is a proper shocker.
Alpha Wolf have become one of the most exciting names in modern heavy music, and Lochie Keogh has been a massive part of that journey.
Seeing an entire European headline tour disappear alongside his departure makes it obvious that the band need some time to regroup before deciding what happens next.
And that’s fair enough.
So rather than firing up the internet detective agency and disappearing down a Reddit rabbit hole at 2am, we’ll stick with what we actually know.
Lochie Keogh and Alpha Wolf have mutually parted ways.
The European headline tour is cancelled.
All remaining Alpha Wolf performances for 2026 are cancelled.
And the future of the band is currently being worked out.
Here’s hoping everyone involved is doing alright and that, when they’re ready, both Alpha Wolf and Lochie Keogh emerge from this next chapter swinging.
Until then…
Respect the privacy. Crank the records. And give the pit a night off. 🐺🤘
What do you reckon, riffers? Were you booked to see Alpha Wolf on their European tour? And where do you think the band goes from here?
Drop your thoughts and keep it respectful. 🤘
Proudly Welsh. Proudly Loud. 🐉🎸
