Today’s the day, butt. 😬🎓

Across Wales and the rest of the UK, thousands of students are waking up with stomachs doing full Slipknot drum fills as they wait to discover their A-Level, T-Level and BTEC results.

Some will be refreshing websites like their lives depend on it. Others will be pacing around the kitchen pretending they’re totally calm while internally screaming louder than a festival crowd demanding an encore.

And from everyone here at The Riff Report, we just want to say one massive thing:

GOOD LUCK! 🤘🔥

Seriously.

Whether you’ve smashed your exams, surprised yourself, narrowly scraped through, missed the grades you were hoping for or are still sitting there wondering what the hell happens next — today is a huge milestone.

And whatever that bit of paper or results screen says, it does not define your entire future.

🎓 RESULTS DAY IS MASSIVE — BUT IT ISN’T EVERYTHING

There’s a ridiculous amount of pressure surrounding results day.

For months, students hear about grades, university requirements, UCAS points, apprenticeships, courses, careers and whether they’ve somehow managed to decide what they want to do with the next 50 years of their life before they’ve even figured out what they want for tea.

No pressure then. 😂

But here’s the thing.

Life very rarely travels in a perfectly straight line.

Plans change.

Courses change.

Jobs change.

People change.

And sometimes the path you weren’t expecting ends up being the absolute best one.

Plenty of successful musicians, artists, engineers, writers, business owners, tradespeople and all-round legends didn’t follow the path they originally expected.

Sometimes life gives you the headline slot.

Sometimes it throws you onto the smallest stage in the rain with five minutes’ notice.

You just keep playing. 🤘

🔥 IF YOU GOT THE RESULTS YOU WANTED — GO CELEBRATE!

If you opened those results today and saw exactly what you were hoping for…

YESSSSS MUN! 🎉🔥

Go enjoy it.

Seriously.

You’ve earned that feeling.

Months of revision, assignments, deadlines, coursework, exams and wondering whether anything you read actually stayed inside your head have finally paid off.

Whether you’re heading to university, starting an apprenticeship, moving into work, continuing your studies or taking the next step towards something you’ve dreamed about for years — soak it all in.

Today is yours.

Get the photos.

Ring the family.

Message your mates.

Grab something nice to eat.

Maybe even allow yourself a celebratory Greggs. Absolute scenes. 😂🥐

😬 DIDN’T GET THE GRADES YOU WANTED?

First things first:

Don’t panic.

It might feel absolutely enormous right now, especially if you had a specific course, university or plan in mind.

But one set of results does not mean everything has suddenly fallen apart.

There are still loads of options available.

Universities may have flexibility.

Clearing exists.

Alternative courses exist.

Apprenticeships exist.

Resits exist.

Different colleges exist.

Employment opportunities exist.

And sometimes taking a slightly different route gets you to exactly the same destination anyway.

Talk to your teachers, tutors, careers advisers, colleges, universities and the people around you.

There’s almost always another road.

And let’s be fair — rock and metal history wasn’t exactly built by people calmly following the official instructions.

Sometimes the detour becomes the story. 🤘

🐉 A SPECIAL SHOUT-OUT TO STUDENTS ACROSS WALES

Being a proudly Welsh publication, we obviously have to give an extra massive shout-out to everyone opening results across Cymru today. ❤️🐉

Cardiff.

Swansea.

Newport.

Wrexham.

Bridgend.

Merthyr.

Pontypridd.

Caerphilly.

The Valleys.

West Wales.

North Wales.

And every town, village and corner in between.

Whether you’re heading off somewhere new or sticking around and building something brilliant right here in Wales, we’re rooting for you.

The next generation of musicians, sound engineers, journalists, photographers, promoters, technicians, designers, doctors, builders, teachers, programmers and absolute chaos merchants are finding out their results today.

That’s pretty bloody exciting when you think about it.

🎸 YOUR RESULTS ARE A CHAPTER — NOT THE WHOLE ALBUM

This might be the most important thing we can say today.

Your results matter.

Of course they do.

You worked for them.

They can open certain doors and influence what happens next.

But they are not your entire identity.

Think of life like an album.

Today might be Track 4.

Important? Absolutely.

The entire record?

Not even close.

There are loads more songs coming.

Some will absolutely rip.

Some will probably be weird experimental tracks nobody understands.

There’ll definitely be at least one terrible decision somewhere around Track 7.

That’s life. 😂

The important thing is you keep going.

❤️ BE PROUD OF HOW FAR YOU’VE COME

Results day often becomes so focused on the final grades that people forget everything that came before them.

The early mornings.

The late-night revision.

The coursework.

The group projects.

The stress.

The deadlines.

The moments where you thought:

“There is absolutely no chance any of this is going into my brain.”

Yet you kept turning up.

That counts for something.

Actually, it counts for a lot.

So whatever happens today, give yourself some credit for reaching this point.

🤘 FROM THE RIFF REPORT — GOOD LUCK!

So from all of us here at The Riff Report, congratulations on making it through.

To everyone receiving A-Level, T-Level and BTEC results today, we genuinely hope you get the news you’ve been waiting for.

And if things don’t quite go to plan?

Keep going.

Ask questions.

Look at your options.

Take the unexpected route if you need to.

Your future is considerably bigger than one morning in August.

So go smash whatever comes next.

Turn it up.

Back yourself.

And remember:

🎓🔥 GOOD LUCK, CLASS OF 2026! 🔥🎓

Proudly Welsh. Proudly Loud. 🐉🎸

And whatever happens…

KEEP THE RIFFS LOUD. 🤘
