They’ve apparently decided that simply baking a cake, blowing out some candles and sticking Balls to the Wall on the stereo wasn’t nearly metal enough. 😂🤘
The German heavy metal legends are celebrating their enormous 50th anniversary with a star-studded collection of re-recorded classics titled Teutonic Titans 1976–2026 — and one of its most intriguing collaborations has now arrived.
Accept have unleashed a new version of ‘Save Us’, featuring none other than Ghost mastermind Tobias Forge on vocals.
And that’s only the beginning.
Also joining the metal party are Anthrax bassist Frank Bello and Korn drummer Ray Luzier.

All battering through an Accept deep cut from 1980.

🎤 TOBIAS FORGE TAKES ON ‘SAVE US’
Originally appearing on Accept’s 1980 album I’m a Rebel, ‘Save Us’ isn’t necessarily the first song casual listeners would pick from the band’s enormous catalogue.
But Tobias Forge isn’t a casual Accept listener.
In fact, the track apparently holds a special place in his heart.
Forge previously told Accept guitarist Wolf Hoffmann that ‘Save Us’ was his favourite Accept song — and that he’d once considered having Ghost record their own cover of it.
That Ghost version never materialised.
But fast-forward to Accept’s enormous anniversary celebrations and Forge has finally been given his chance to sink his teeth into the song.
And suddenly this forgotten little corner of Accept history has been dragged kicking, screaming and riffing into 2026.
Wolf Hoffmann admitted that Forge’s choice actually caught him by surprise.
He joked that he barely remembered the track himself and had to go back and listen to it again after Forge mentioned it.
But after seeing Ghost live, everything apparently clicked.
You can understand why.
That theatrical, slightly sinister classic-metal swagger fits Forge like a black glove.

The musicians involved make this re-recording even more ridiculous.

That’s several generations and several very different corners of heavy music meeting around one classic Accept song.

And sitting underneath everything is the unmistakable DNA of Accept.
It’s not simply a nostalgia exercise.
It’s a reminder of just how bloody far Accept’s influence has travelled over the past five decades.

The re-recorded ‘Save Us’ will appear on Accept’s forthcoming anniversary album Teutonic Titans 1976–2026, arriving 4 September 2026 through Napalm Records.
And this thing isn’t messing around.
Accept have assembled 50 guest musicians to celebrate their 50 years of heavy metal.
Fifty.
Someone clearly looked at the guest list and shouted:
“MORE METALHEADS!”

The resulting album contains 19 re-recorded Accept songs, with different combinations of legendary singers and musicians appearing throughout.
And some of the names involved are absolutely enormous.
We’re talking members of Metallica, Judas Priest, Pantera, Anthrax, Korn, Megadeth, Scorpions and more.
It’s basically heavy metal fantasy football.
Except everyone has guitars.

One particularly tasty collaboration comes on the re-recording of Accept’s legendary ‘Fast as a Shark’.

🔥 50 YEARS OF ACCEPT
Formed in Germany in 1976, Accept became one of the bands that helped establish the blueprint for European heavy metal.
Through records including Breaker, Restless and Wild, Balls to the Wall and Metal Heart, they helped create a sound built around enormous riffs, screaming vocals, pounding rhythms and choruses designed to be shouted by several thousand sweaty metalheads simultaneously.
Their fingerprints can be found across traditional heavy metal, speed metal, power metal and thrash.
And that’s what makes Teutonic Titans 1976–2026 such an interesting way of celebrating their anniversary.
Rather than simply remastering the old recordings again and sticking them in another box set, Accept are allowing musicians who came after them to become part of the songs.
It’s essentially five decades of heavy metal history shaking hands.
Or throwing horns.
Definitely throwing horns.

👻 TOBIAS FORGE WAS MADE FOR THIS STUFF
The ‘Save Us’ collaboration feels particularly fitting.
Ghost may have evolved into one of modern rock and metal’s biggest theatrical acts, but Forge has never exactly hidden his love for classic rock and heavy metal.
You can hear decades of influence running through Ghost’s music — everything from traditional heavy metal and occult rock to arena rock, prog, pop and glam.
So hearing Forge step directly into an Accept song feels strangely natural.
Especially considering he once wanted Ghost to cover ‘Save Us’ anyway.
In some alternate universe, there’s probably a Ghost version sitting on an unreleased EP somewhere.
And yes.
We’d quite like to hear that too.

This is exactly how you celebrate 50 years of heavy metal.
Don’t just look backwards.
Get musicians from across generations together, reopen the songbook and make the old riffs roar again.
And having Tobias Forge front ‘Save Us’ is a cracking choice.
The fact that Forge himself championed what is arguably a deeper Accept cut makes the whole thing even better.
It isn’t somebody simply picking the biggest song on Spotify.
It’s a genuine fan stepping into the world of a band that helped shape the music he eventually went on to make himself.
That, butt, is what a proper anniversary celebration should be about.

Fifty years.
Nineteen classics.
Fifty guest musicians.
And enough heavy-metal royalty to require its own bloody throne room.
