Just when you thought the blink-182 reunion couldn’t get any better, Travis Barker has gone and casually lobbed another pop-punk grenade into the room.

The drummer has confirmed that he’s working on new blink-182 music this year, meaning the Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker era isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

Someone dig out the Dickies shorts, find that battered Atticus hoodie and prepare to shout inappropriate things at your mates — because the pop-punk overlords appear to be heading back into record-making mode.

🎸 Travis Barker Confirms New blink-182 Material

The update emerged this week, with Barker confirming that new blink-182 material is among the music he’ll be working on during 2026.

While we don’t yet have an album title, track listing, release date or confirmation of exactly how far along the project is, it’s the clearest indication yet that another chapter from the reunited trio is taking shape.

And considering what happened the last time these three properly got back in a room together?

Our expectations are somewhere around the stratosphere. 🚀

The reunion of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker has already delivered far more than many blink fans ever thought they’d see again.

For years, the idea of Tom returning felt like one of those things you’d discuss over six pints at Download Festival.

“Imagine if Tom came back, though…”

Then he bloody did. 😂

And suddenly blink-182 weren’t merely celebrating their past — they were making genuinely meaningful new music together.

💿 ONE MORE TIME… Changed Everything

The band’s 2023 album ONE MORE TIME… represented the first full studio album from the classic Hoppus-DeLonge-Barker line-up since their 2011 record Neighborhoods.

And it wasn’t simply three old mates dusting off the instruments for a nostalgia payday.

There was emotion.

There were massive choruses.

There were stupid jokes.

There were riffs.

There were songs about mortality, friendship, regret and getting older.

Basically, blink-182 grew up without actually growing up.

Which is exactly how it should be.

Songs including “EDGING,” “DANCE WITH ME,” “MORE THAN YOU KNOW,” “ANTHEM PART 3” and the emotional title track showed that the chemistry between Mark, Tom and Travis was very much alive.

Then came ONE MORE TIME… PART-2, expanding the era even further with additional material including “NO FUN,” “ALL IN MY HEAD,” “CAN’T GO BACK,” “EVERY OTHER WEEKEND,” “IF YOU NEVER LEFT” and more.

The complete deluxe edition eventually stretched the project to a whopping 27 tracks.

🥁 Travis Barker Remains an Absolute Machine

Of course, Barker saying he’s working on music isn’t exactly surprising.

The bloke appears physically incapable of sitting still.

When he’s not battering a drum kit like it owes him £20, Barker has spent years producing, collaborating and appearing across punk, rock, pop and hip-hop.

But new blink-182 carries considerably more weight.

Because something changed when Tom returned.

The band suddenly felt complete again.

Mark’s unmistakable bass and vocals.

Tom’s riffs and gloriously nasal delivery.

Travis apparently attempting to break the sound barrier behind the drum kit.

Put those three ingredients together and you’ve got one of the most recognisable sounds in modern rock.

👽 The Mark, Tom & Travis Show Rolls On

Perhaps the most exciting part of this news is simply that blink-182 aren’t treating the reunion as a temporary victory lap.

They’ve already toured extensively, released a huge collection of new material and reminded everyone why they became one of the defining bands of the late-’90s and early-2000s pop-punk explosion.

Yet they’re apparently still creatively hungry.

That’s important.

Nobody particularly wants blink becoming a heritage act that spends the next decade playing “All The Small Things” while a giant screen behind them shows photographs from 1999.

Well…

We’d absolutely watch that.

But we’d rather have new tunes as well. 😂

And that’s what makes this current blink era so bloody exciting.

They’re respecting the nostalgia without becoming trapped by it.

🔥 So… When Could We Actually Hear It?

Here’s where we’ve got to keep our Vans firmly planted on the ground.

At the moment, there isn’t a confirmed release date for a new blink-182 album.

We also don’t know whether the material Barker is working on will ultimately become a complete studio album, an EP, standalone singles or something else entirely.

So don’t start camping outside HMV just yet, butt.

But Barker confirming he’s working on new blink material during 2026 is more than enough to get the rumour machine firing.

If the trio are actively writing and recording again, 2027 could become very interesting indeed.

And blink have always been capable of moving quickly once the machinery starts turning.

🎤 What Could The Next blink-182 Album Sound Like?

Now THIS is where things get interesting.

ONE MORE TIME… deliberately connected the band’s past with their present.

But where do they go next?

Could we get the darker experimentation of the 2003 self-titled album?

The frantic pop-punk energy of Enema Of The State?

The polished hooks of Take Off Your Pants And Jacket?

The atmospheric weirdness of Neighborhoods?

Or something completely different?

With Tom’s work outside blink, Mark’s songwriting instincts and Travis’ enormous production experience across different genres, there’s potentially a massive musical playground available to them.

Personally, we’d love to hear them get proper weird again.

Give us enormous riffs.

Give us strange synths.

Give us ridiculous 45-second punk songs.

Give us emotional six-minute monsters.

Give Travis approximately 37 unnecessary drum fills.

And obviously give us at least one song containing a joke that three men in their fifties absolutely shouldn’t be making.

That’s blink-182. 😂

❤️ This Reunion Still Feels Special

Behind all the jokes, there’s something genuinely brilliant about this chapter of blink-182.

Their story could easily have ended very differently.

There were fallouts.

There were side projects.

There were long periods where another reunion seemed unlikely.

There were serious health battles and life-changing experiences.

Yet somehow Mark, Tom and Travis found their way back to one another.

That’s why “ONE MORE TIME” hit fans so hard.

It wasn’t simply another reunion single.

It sounded like three friends recognising that life is far too short to waste years not speaking.

And now, rather than disappearing after one album and a gigantic reunion tour, they’re apparently carrying on.

That might be the best news of all. ❤️🤘

We don’t know what it’s called.

We don’t know when it’s arriving.

We don’t know how many songs they’ve got.
