Choosing just ten albums wasn’t easy. There have been plenty of fantastic releases already, but these are the records that have stood head and shoulders above the rest and earned a permanent place in our playlists.

🥇 1. Ghost –

Skeletá

If there was any doubt that Ghost remain one of the biggest forces in modern rock, Skeletá put that to bed in spectacular fashion.

Tobias Forge once again delivers an album packed with cinematic production, unforgettable melodies and the perfect balance between darkness and accessibility. Every listen uncovers another hidden gem, making this one of those albums that simply gets better with time.

Whether you’re a lifelong disciple or a newcomer to the congregation, Skeletá is essential listening.

🥈 2. Ricky Warwick –

Fire & Vengeance

Few artists can write from the heart quite like Ricky Warwick.

Fire & Vengeance is full of honest storytelling, infectious hooks and gritty rock ‘n’ roll that feels authentic from start to finish. It’s the sound of an artist completely comfortable in his own skin and still producing some of the best music of his career.

This is British rock at its absolute finest.

🥉 3. The Darkness –

Dreams On Toast

Nobody mixes outrageous humour with phenomenal musicianship quite like The Darkness.

Dreams On Toast is gloriously ridiculous in all the right ways. Huge riffs, massive choruses, dazzling guitar work and Justin Hawkins’ unmistakable vocals combine to create another wonderfully entertaining record.

Rock should be fun—and this album reminds us exactly why.

4. Smith/Kotzen –

Black Light / White Noise

Adrian Smith and Richie Kotzen continue to prove they’re one of rock’s finest partnerships.

The chemistry between the pair is effortless, blending blues, hard rock and soulful melodies into an album that sounds both modern and timeless.

It’s the kind of record you can throw on from beginning to end without ever reaching for the skip button.

5. Halestorm –

Everest

Lzzy Hale once again demonstrates why she’s one of the greatest rock vocalists of her generation.

Everest is packed with emotion, soaring hooks and arena-ready anthems that are destined to become festival favourites for years to come.

If you’ve ever witnessed Halestorm live, you’ll already know these songs are going to sound enormous.

6. Shinedown –

Kill The Lights

Few bands consistently deliver uplifting modern rock like Shinedown.

Kill The Lights combines powerful lyrics, infectious melodies and huge production to create another excellent addition to their catalogue.

It’s emotional, energetic and impossible not to sing along with.

7. Dorothy –

The Way

Dorothy continues to establish herself as one of the strongest voices in modern rock.

Her blend of blues, classic rock influences and powerhouse vocals makes The Way an album that’s impossible to ignore.

8. Mammoth –

The End

Wolfgang Van Halen keeps proving that his success is built on talent rather than surname.

The End showcases fantastic songwriting, exceptional musicianship and massive guitar tones throughout.

It’s another giant step forward for one of rock’s brightest stars.

9. H.E.A.T –

Welcome To The Future

Melodic rock fans have been absolutely spoiled this year.

H.E.A.T deliver exactly what they’ve become famous for—big choruses, soaring vocals and enough energy to light up every festival stage they step onto.

Pure feel-good rock from start to finish.

🔟 10. Shogun Mojo –

Shogun Mojo

One of the biggest surprises of the year comes courtesy of Tommy Thayer and Dan Reed.

Their debut combines classic hard rock with blues, groove and modern production to create an album that’s familiar without ever feeling dated.

It’s a hugely impressive debut that deserves plenty of attention.

There have been plenty of brilliant releases that narrowly missed the final list.
