💣 Oslo’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Wrecking Crew Strike Again
There are albums that gently invite you in.
Then there are albums that kick your front door off its hinges, steal your beer, set fire to your sofa and somehow leave you thanking them afterwards.
Welcome to Handsome Like a Nuclear Bomb, the latest blast of Scandinavian rock chaos from Oslo’s finest loudmouths, Masters of Disasters.
Clocking in at just seventeen minutes, this six-track sonic grenade doesn’t waste a single second. There are no filler tracks, no pointless intros, no acoustic ballads about feelings. This thing exists for one reason only: to rock harder than common sense allows.
From the very first riff, Masters of Disasters make their intentions crystal clear. This isn’t a nostalgia trip. It’s a celebration of everything that made the late-’90s Scandinavian rock explosion one of the coolest scenes ever to emerge from Europe.
Think leather jackets.
Think Marshall stacks.
Think cigarette burns on guitar cases.
Think rock’n’roll that doesn’t care what anyone thinks.
🎸 Loud, Fast and Gloriously Unapologetic
The band’s DNA is impossible to miss.
Fans of Gluecifer, The Hellacopters and Turbonegro will immediately feel at home as the riffs fly thick and fast throughout the record. Every song feels like it’s being chased by the police, fuelled by caffeine and held together with duct tape.
The guitars snarl with dirty garage-rock attitude while the rhythm section keeps everything charging forward like a runaway train heading straight through a brick wall.
What makes Handsome Like a Nuclear Bomb work so well is its complete refusal to overcomplicate things.
Masters of Disasters understand a simple truth that many modern rock bands seem to forget:
Rock’n’roll is supposed to be fun.
And this record is an absolute riot.
The hooks are massive.
The choruses are built for shouting back at the stage.
The riffs arrive one after another like a drunken bar fight that somehow turns into the greatest night of your life.
🔥 The Spirit of Scandi-Rock Lives On
One of the most impressive things about the album is how authentic it feels.
Plenty of bands attempt to recreate the magic of the Scandinavian action-rock movement, but Masters of Disasters sound like they were born from it.
There’s a swagger running through these songs that can’t be manufactured.
You can hear traces of the sleazy rock’n’roll attitude that made early Guns N’ Roses dangerous, mixed with the garage-punk energy that turned Scandinavian rock into one of the most exciting underground scenes on the planet.
The production is rough around the edges in exactly the right way.
Nothing feels polished to death.
Nothing feels sterile.
Everything feels alive.
🍺 Seventeen Minutes of Pure Adrenaline
At just six tracks, some listeners might wish there was more material here.
But honestly?
The short runtime is part of the charm.
Handsome Like a Nuclear Bomb arrives, causes complete destruction and disappears before you have a chance to catch your breath.
It’s the musical equivalent of getting punched in the face by a biker wearing leopard-print trousers and then immediately buying him a pint.
By the time the final track ends you’ll probably be reaching for the replay button.
Which is exactly what happened here.
Several times.

🤘 Final Verdict
Masters of Disasters aren’t trying to reinvent rock music.
They’re reminding everyone why it was brilliant in the first place.
This is loud, reckless, hook-filled rock’n’roll played by people who clearly love every second of it.
No gimmicks.
No trends.
No compromises.
Just six tracks of pure Scandinavian rock chaos delivered with a grin and a raised middle finger.
If you’re looking for deep philosophical concepts and experimental soundscapes, look elsewhere.
If you’re looking for riffs, attitude, sweat, beer and enough energy to power a small Welsh village, you’ve just found your next favourite record.
Turn it up.
Annoy the neighbours.
Rock responsibly.
🔥 The Riff Report Rating: 4.5 / 5 🔥
Handsome Like a Nuclear Bomb is short, explosive and impossible to ignore. Masters of Disasters prove once again that great rock’n’roll doesn’t need to be complicated—it just needs to hit hard.
