Australia’s death/groove metal bruisers Beleth are back, butt — and they’ve brought a riff-shaped wrecking ball with them.
Their new single ‘The Grinding Void’ lands on May 15th 2026 as an independent release, and judging by the sheer weight of the thing, it’s less a song and more a flaming pit opening beneath your feet. Lovely stuff. 😈
From Pandemic Project To Riff Machine 🥁
Formed during the chaos of the COVID era, Beleth began life as a recording project — but once the world started creaking open again, the band didn’t vanish into the fog.
Oh no.
They got heavier, groovier, and far more dangerous.
Their 2021 debut album Silent Genesis landed through Wormholdeath Records, in association with Scorching Earth Records and Narcoleptica Productions, earning praise across the global metal press. With comparisons to Carcass and Lamb Of God, Beleth quickly marked themselves out as a band built on muscle, melody, and absolute riff carnage.
Since then, they’ve kept the furnace burning with independent singles — including a bulldozing cover of Metallica’s ‘No Remorse’ — and now, with new vocalist Dean Wade locked into the line-up, the next chapter is ready to explode.
‘The Grinding Void’ Is A Proper Death/Groove Hammer Blow 🔥
From the opening moments, ‘The Grinding Void’ feels like something crawling out of smoke, blood, and fire.
It builds with atmosphere before the riffs come smashing through like a tank through a kebab shop wall at 2am. The track keeps all the classic Beleth ingredients — muscular riffs, rolling rhythms, monstrous vocals, and sharp melodic hooks — but pushes everything into darker, meaner territory.
The chorus is big, addictive, and built for neck-snapping, while the whole track keeps tightening its grip until it reaches a furious climax topped off by a guest guitar solo from Aidan Cibich of Echoes In Eternity, formerly of Apophis and Tanin’iver.
Tidy? Absolutely. Subtle? Not a chance. 🤘
Armour-Plated Production ⚙️
The single was mixed and mastered by Lasse Lammert at LSD Studios in Germany, whose credits include work with Raven, Sigh, and Godsnake.
And mun, you can hear it.
‘The Grinding Void’ sounds massive — rugged, polished, and dangerous, with enough low-end bite to rattle the fillings out of your head. It’s the kind of production that doesn’t just support the song; it kicks the door open and drags the whole thing into battle.
The track will also arrive with a lyric video created by Tony Kaarlas at Kaarto Media in Finland, premiering on May 14th.
Line-Up 🤘
Dean Wade – Vocals
Chris Long – Guitars/Bass
Robin Stone – Drums
Guest Lead Guitar: Aidan Cibich
The Riff Report Verdict 🧨
Beleth have delivered what may be their strongest statement yet with ‘The Grinding Void’ — a crushing slab of death/groove metal packed with atmosphere, power, hooks, and enough riff-weight to cave in the roof.
This is not background music.
This is not polite metal.
This is stand in the fire and grin metal.
When May 15th hits, crank it loud and let the void do the grinding. C’mon butt. 🔥🤘
