Right then butt… if your day needed a cosmic slap across the chops, Obscura have absolutely delivered.
The German tech-death overlords have unleashed a brand new video for ‘The Sun Eater’ — and it’s less “music video” and more astral-level destruction wrapped in riffs. 🌌🔥
🚀 STRAP IN — THIS ONE’S NOT FOR THE FAINT-NECKED
From the first note, The Sun Eater launches like a rocket straight into your skull:
- 🎸 Riffs sharper than a pint glass at chucking-out time
- 🥁 Drumming that sounds like chaos with a PhD
- 🎤 Vocals dragged straight out of a black hole
- 🧠 Technical madness that makes you question reality itself
This is OBSCURA at full power — precise, punishing, and properly ridiculous (in the best way).
🎥 THE VIDEO — COSMIC CHAOS ON SCREEN
The new video matches the madness perfectly — dark, atmospheric, and dripping in that signature OBSCURA sci-fi-meets-death-metal vibe.
It’s slick, it’s intense, and it’ll leave you thinking:
“Yeah… I’m never learning that riff.” 😅
🌍 TOURING LIKE THEY’VE GOT SOMETHING TO PROVE
Not content with melting faces online, OBSCURA are hitting the road hard.
With Shred Fest 2027 looming, they’re bringing a full-on tech-death assault across Europe and the UK — including:
- 🇬🇧 London
- 🇬🇧 Birmingham
- 🇬🇧 Manchester
- 🇬🇧 Glasgow
- 🇬🇧 Southampton
Neck braces recommended. Seriously. 🤕
🎂 25 YEARS OF ABSOLUTE MADNESS
This all ties into OBSCURA celebrating 25 years of sonic insanity — and instead of slowing down, they’ve decided to go even harder.
Quarter of a century in, and they’re still out here outplaying everyone and making it look easy. Unreal stuff.

🤘 RIFF REPORT VERDICT
This is tech-death perfection with zero chill.
If you like your metal:
- Fast as hell
- Technically outrageous
- Slightly terrifying
- And capable of bending time and space
Then ‘The Sun Eater’ is going straight on repeat.
🔥 FINAL WORD
OBSCURA haven’t just dropped a video…
They’ve dropped a cosmic-level riff nuke.
Turn it up. Hold on tight. Try not to get consumed. ☀️😈
👉 Sound off, butt — are OBSCURA still kings of the tech-death universe or what? 🤘
